Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are now over halfway through the term, and what a busy and exciting fortnight it has been at St Mary’s! Firstly, a huge congratulations to all our wonderful students who gave their best effort in yesterday’s Cross Country event. It was fantastic to see their determination and school spirit on display. We also want to acknowledge the fantastic work students have done in their class public speaking topics—well done to everyone who participated and a special congratulations to those who were selected as winners. We look forward to seeing these students represent our school with pride at the TREE Interschool finals next week. Good luck to all involved!
Last week, we celebrated the joy of reading during Book Week! The creativity shown in the dress-up day and the variety of activities throughout the week were truly inspiring. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make the week such a success—from organising the dress-up day and author visit, to running the book store and preparing the incredible book-themed lunches on Friday. A special thank you to our amazing P&F and the parent volunteers—your efforts were deeply appreciated by staff, students, and families alike. It’s moments like these that truly highlight the spirit of our St Mary’s community.
Just a friendly reminder: when communicating with teachers and staff, please use approved channels such as the school office, email, or classroom communication apps like Seesaw. Communication should remain focused on school and educational matters, and we kindly ask that social media or personal mobile numbers not be used for these purposes.
I would also like to extend my thanks to the parents and community members who have taken the time to meet with me during my first term and a half as Principal. It has been a pleasure getting to know you and hearing your thoughts. I warmly invite any parents who haven’t yet had the chance (or those who would like to continue the conversation) to book an appointment with me. Your insights and ideas are invaluable as we look ahead to the future of St Mary’s and consider the direction our school community would like to take.
Thank you once again for your ongoing support of our school. It is truly appreciated.
Kind regards,
Michael Patrick
