Principal's Message - Kim Fraser

Last Tuesday as part of our Public School Review (PSR) we shared with the School Review Team the many amazing things we do as a CPS community. The team from the Department comprised of Kate Wilson, Director Public School Accountability and Mr Tim Bamber, Principal from Oberthur Primary as the Peer reviewer. Throughout the day they had the opportunity to met with parents, community members, staff and students. They were extremely impressed with many things: the genuine sense of community, culture of collaboration between school, Board, P & C, parents and teachers. We were commended for our high-quality sustainable curriculum direction that supports all students in achieving growth not only the academic but also developing their social/emotional/Mental Health wellbeing needs. Consequently, we were granted a 5-year return for our next review which is only provided to outstanding schools who exceed expectations. This is an amazing celebration for everyone the in particular the staff and leadership teams who consistently demonstrate an outstanding dedication to ensuring each and every child has the opportunity to develop and grow.

Many thanks to board and P & C members who took time out of their busy schedule to participate in the review, the Review team were extremely impressed with the positive partnerships.

And the celebrations continued with the Cross Country! Awesome to see the children having a go and enjoy every minute of the event. Congratulations again to Mr Marshall and the Sports Captains for the huge amount of effort given before and during the event.

With only one week to go to the Churchlands Primary School Music Trivia Night the countdown is on. It's time to acknowledge the huge number of local businesses that have shown their support to the school in an effort to help us raise funds to support our students. With a whopping 90 local businesses getting behind the event this is something we are proud of and hope you will consider supporting them where you can.  Please see the attachment for a list of these amazing sponsors. Any last minute event enquiries can be directed to Shannon Ryan - 0416 566 117.

The P & C have outdone themselves again! It looks as though its going to be a spectacular and fun night! Hope you have your costumes ready and raring to go! A huge shout out to the fundraising team, you have done an outstanding job getting this ready.

As our school community continues to grow, we've noticed an increasing number of disruptions during our before and after school hours. These times are crucial for our teachers to connect with parents, hold team meetings, and prepare for the day ahead.

To ensure a smoother experience for everyone, we kindly request your cooperation with the following measures:

  • Morning Drop-off: Children dropped off at school from 8:25 a.m. are to wait at the tennis courts. They will be supervised by one of our Executives and released to their classes at 8:35 a.m.
  • Accompanying Your Children: If you arrive at school with your children, please keep them with you outside the classroom. This time is not for playing on equipment or running around.
  • After School Activities: Families staying back for after-school sports or clubs are encouraged to use the Ninja playground on the oval for siblings to play during this time.
  • Departure Time: We kindly request that all other parents vacate the school grounds by 3:15 p.m. This helps us ensure the safety and well-being of all students.
  • Please remember that once children are on school grounds, we have a duty of care regardless of whether parents are on-site.

We understand that these changes may be inconvenient, but we appreciate your understanding and support in maintaining a productive and safe environment for all.

We sincerely appreciate and thank you for your cooperation.
