The Gospel (Matthew 13: 44)

Jesus continued, “God’s kingdom is like a treasure hidden in a field for years and then accidently found by a trespasser. The finder is ecstatic – what a find! – and proceeds to sell everything he owns to raise money and buy that field”.

... On the way to Mass

Describe the Kingdom of heaven in one or two of your own words.

On the way home from Mass ...

Jesus compared the Kingdom of heaven to treasure, fine pearls, a great catch of fish that will be sorted, and an inventory of old and new items. Think about the words you used to describe the Kingdom of heaven. Are they similar or different from Jesus' descriptions?

The Prayer

God of the tiny baby and the oldest member, help us to seek your kingdom together. God of ancient stories and of new life, help us to seek your kingdom together.

God of the Olympic gold winner and the last across the line, help us to seek your kingdom together.  God of who we are and who we can be, help us to seek your kingdom together. In times of struggle and times of celebration, help us to seek your kingdom together. Amen.

The Question of the Week

Staff/Parents

What would you be willing to “sell,” or do without, in order to achieve your dreams for yourself or your

family?

Primary Students

What good thing do you want so much that you would give up something else to get it?

The Action

Bake a loaf of bread. Plant a seed. Go fishing. Invest in something really important. But whatever you do, consider how your actions teach you about God’s kingdom and how it comes into the world through you. Not every loaf will rise, not every field sown will produce a yield.

2023 Non-Government Schools Census collection notice

The annual school census will take place on Friday 4th August. It is imperative that the school has received an application of extended leave for 5 or more days or a note of explanation (in case of sickness etc) if your child is absent on this day, as this is a legal requirement.

If your child is not at school on Friday 5th August, please ensure you have updated Compass with your child’s absence and anticipated date of return. Your assistance in this matter is greatly appreciated.

Please see attached the 2023 Non-Government Schools Census collection notice.

Year 6 Peer Support Training and Session 1 2023

All students attended the training days with excitement and enthusiasm.
