Principal’s Message – Welcome to Term 4

Welcome back to Term 4! I hope everyone enjoyed a well-deserved break and had time to rest, recharge and spend some quality moments with family and friends. It’s hard to believe we’ve reached the final term of the year, a term always filled with energy, celebration and reflection.

We finished Term 3 on such a high with our incredible Year 3 Musical. What a wonderful showcase of talent, confidence and teamwork! The performances were a joy to watch, and our Year 3 students should be extremely proud of themselves. A heartfelt thank you to Mrs Sketcher for her creativity, dedication and countless hours of preparation, the success of the musical was a true reflection of her hard work and passion for the performing arts.

Over the holidays, we also took the opportunity to complete some improvement works around the school. Parts of the middle and top terrace have been reseeded to help our grounds look their best heading into summer, and several classrooms received some fresh paint and patching. We’ve also set up a brand new Leading Teacher office area, providing a welcoming and collaborative space for our leadership team to work together in support of staff and students. The school is looking fresh, bright and ready for a fantastic Term 4.

This term is shaping up to be a busy and exciting one with so many camps and hikes on the calendar. We’re incredibly proud to offer our students such a high-quality outdoor education experience through our S2S (School to Summit) program. This year, the program is bigger and better than ever, with a strong focus on our wellbeing principles and school values, bravery, inclusion, respect and kindness. It’s wonderful to see our students challenge themselves, support one another and connect deeply with the outdoors. We’ll all need to make sure we’re looking after Miss Driessen too, as she leads the charge through what promises to be a full and rewarding term of adventures!

Next week is already shaping up to be a very busy and exciting week at MPS, with our Year 6 Musical taking the stage. We can’t wait to see our Year 6 students shine on stage, their creativity, confidence and teamwork have been incredible throughout rehearsals. Best of luck also to our athletes representing MPS at Regional aths tomorrow, we’re so proud of you and know you’ll give it your very best effort!

Our focus this term will be on finishing the year strong, while also celebrating the many achievements of our students and staff. Over the coming weeks, there will be plenty of exciting events and opportunities for our students to shine from transition programs and excursions to performances, sporting events and end-of-year celebrations.

For our Year 6 students, this term marks their final chapter at Mansfield Primary School. It’s a special time filled with both excitement and emotion as they prepare for their next adventure in secondary school. We’re proud of the young people they’ve become and look forward to celebrating their journey at graduation later this term.

We’re also very excited to bring you the next episode of MPS TV in the coming weeks! It’s always such a joy to give our families and the wider community a little peek behind the scenes at what happens here at MPS. We love keeping you updated with all things MPS, celebrating our students, sharing their learning and shining a light on the wonderful things happening across our school every day.

As always, thank you to our families for your ongoing support and partnership. The sense of community at MPS continues to be one of our greatest strengths, and it’s what makes our school such a special place to learn and grow.

Let’s make Term 4 one to remember, full of learning, laughter and connection.

Help Keep Our School Zones Safe!

To help keep children safe and ensure smooth traffic flow around schools, please follow these important parking regulations:

  • No Parking Within 20 Metres Before and 10 Metres After a School Crossing Unless otherwise signed, it is illegal to park within 20 metres before and 10 metres after a designated school crossing.
  • No Stopping Zones You must not stop in a No Stopping zone — not even briefly to pick up or drop off passengers.
  • Park in the Right Direction

Always park your vehicle facing the direction of traffic. Parking the wrong way disrupts traffic flow and increases the risk of accidents.

  • No Parking on Nature Strips or Footpaths

Parking on nature strips or footpaths is not only illegal, but it can also damage public property, block access for pedestrians, and create dangerous obstacles for students walking to and from school.

These regulations are vital for maintaining visibility, ensuring smooth traffic movement, and keeping pedestrians safe.

Local Laws Officers will be monitoring school areas during busy drop-off and pick-up times to help ensure compliance and support students safety.

Hats - Term 4

Term 4 hats are to be worn. If you need to purchase a hat, head to the Spartan School World website & place your order. www.spartanschoolworld.com.au
