From the Principal's Desk...
What an incredible start we've had with our new P&C team initiative - the Colour Fun Run - our students and community have really gotten behind this important goal of $50,000, to raise funds for much-needed technology, to help support each and every students' learning! In just over a week and a half, we are already nearing the halfway point. Head over to our Instagram account, to see regular updates and teacher slimings! We can't wait until Monday @ 9am, to see both Mrs Bowman AND Mr Saville get SLIMED. However, I don't think it will be long before it's Ms Jennett's turn (the total is currently sitting at $23,501.88). Hmmm, I wonder if we can hit $30,000 by the last day of term and Mrs Pitman can also be slimed!
On Thursday, Year 6 student, Emily, performed at the 'Schools Remember ANZAC Commemoration' at Hyde Park, with the NSW Schools Junior Singers. Congratulations, Emily, we are proud of you.
PLEASE KEEP THEM COMING! We're collecting plastic bottle lids for a special project. Please wash and dry instead of recycling. There is a collection box in the foyer, outside the office. Thanks so much for your help!

SOME OF OUR STORIES ARE SAVED AS HIGHLIGHTS...
This week 3/4E had Mrs Bowman for a WHOLE DAY! We had lots of fun creating amazing artworks about our class animal the ELK!
We drew ELKS and then painted our ELKS! Then we took photos of our beautiful faces, printed them out and then glued them onto our ELKS!!
We painted with watercolour and on A3 paper. And we hung them up in our MAGNIFICENT classroom!!!
It was very fun and we worked very hard on them.
After that, we created some CACTI! (Cactus) On A3 paper we painted some green patterns, and drew some leaves on the other side of the paper. Then we cut them out. After that we grabbed an A4 piece of paper and glued on a pot.
Then we glued on the leaves right above the pot on the paper. Then we had a lovely cactus in a pot!!
We also did some Outside Fun Games! There was a lot of running around and excitement! Then we finished off the day with some calmful writing about Edwina the Emu!

The students of 1/2 Javan Rusa have been busy this week, exploring the world of storytelling and developing their English language skills, through the creation of 'little books’. Through interactive storytelling sessions and reading aloud engaging children's books, we've been fostering a love for stories among our students. Inspired by the stories we've encountered, our students have embarked on an adventure of their own by writing their 'little books' in English. These mini-masterpieces allow our young writers to express their ideas, imagination, and vocabulary in a fun and creative way. Not only are our students writing stories, but they're also illustrating them! From colourful drawings to imaginative doodles, our little artists are adding their personal touch to each page, making their books truly unique and special!
When asked about how they created these little books, here's what some of the students had to say…
‘I like writing and drawing illustrations. It's just fun to write’. - Finn
‘They help you learn to write and it's fun to do’ - Bailey
‘I like writing stories from my imagination’ - Darcey
‘It makes me feel calm’ - Isabel
‘We are making a real book and makes me feel happy’ - Frankie
‘When you are finished you can read it again and again’ - Millie
‘My favourite part was designing the front cover’ - Harvey
‘They help me learn to write’ - Teddy
‘It is good practise if you want to be an illustrator or an author in the future’ - Kian
