Principal's News

Dear Families

First thank you to everyone for the community effort in making our swimming program very successful over the past fortnight. We can not thank our volunteers enough - your support and giving of time is greatly appreciated. Thank you to our students and staff as it is a big two weeks, I’m sure many will be sleeping well tonight!

KEY INFORMATION AND UPDATES:

Class structures

Our 2025 class structures are Prep, Year 1 (x2), Year 2, Year 3/4 (x2) and Year 5/6 (x3).

Classroom teachers

We warmly welcome the following classroom teaching staff to our school in 2025. Each bring many gifts to our team:

  • Justine Le Griffon is an experienced teacher in Catholic and special education. She is no stranger to Fatima having done numerous CRT days for us over the past two years.

  • Kym McCarthy is also no stranger to Fatima having done CRT days for us in the past. Kym brings enthusiasm and a passion for wellbeing and student learning.

  • Jacinta Riedel has worked in a couple of school settings predominantly in the junior school. She brings experience in English as a second language and literacy intervention.

  • Sarah Dean’s career started as a psychologist both in private practice and as a school psychologist. She has moved into education, with her most recent experience being a teacher in Rarotonga, an island in the Cook Islands.

Some changes to our teaching team are:

  • Alicia Baker, after seventeen years at Fatima, has decided to take a year of leave to experience other pathways in her career. Next year she will join the David Scott School that works with disengaged youth.

  • Danielle Rasdell has made the decision to return to the state system and will be at Patterson Lakes Primary School.

  • Ebony Burns has selected the CRT (Casual Relief Teacher) life next year and so we will definitely still be seeing Miss Burns around our school!

I also wish to announce that Louise Davidge will be returning to MACS as a Learning Consultant in Diversity. Louise is driven to work across numerous schools in Catholic education supporting schools in the diversity space. We are currently recruiting for this position.

I do wish to thank these four amazing women for all their contributions to Fatima and sharing their time and wisdom with us. We are happy for each of them to pursue new opportunities in education.

Library books

All school library books are now due back to school. Last day for returning is Friday 6th December.

Rosebud Community Garden

Congratulations to Mrs Driscoll and her team for coming second place in the Hanging Basket Competition. They missed out by 1 point for their amazing BEE-LEAF entry!

Step Up session

On Monday our students will get to meet their 2025 classmates and teacher/s for an hour-long session. This is an exciting day for all of us.

Looking forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday evening for our Christmas Carols in the Hall.
