Principal's Message

Dear Families,

What a great start to 2024! Students are settling in well, particularly our new Preps. Thank you to our Grade 4 Big Buddies who are helping their Prep buddies out each day. It is great to see their leadership and kindness.

Welcome New Staff

Welcome to our new staff for 2024 and congratulations to our staff who have taken on leadership roles this year. Over the next few weeks, we will introduce each of our new staff.

Welcome New Families and Parent Information Evening

Welcome to our new families, it is great to see your children making friends and settling into Mansfield Primary School. Our Parent Information Evening, Meet the teacher and Picnic Night is Tuesday 27th February from 5pm – 6:30pm. This is a great opportunity to hear what’s happening in your child’s classroom, meet their teacher and enjoy a BYO picnic at school with the school community. Our office will be open so you can pop in and pay your voluntary contribution. They will also be selling a small amount of second-hand uniform.

Yearly Events Calendar– Save the Date

Over the last few years, we have had lots of feedback around the school providing our community with a yearly events calendar to help parents organise and plan things in their busy lives. We're listening! Please see below Our 2024 MPS Yearly Events Calendar. Please remember, all these dates are subject to change, we will do our best to let you know if things change as soon as we can.

Arriving at School

Just a friendly remainder that students are not able to be at school prior to 8:30am. Staff are on Yard Duty from 8:30am until the start of school. Students who arrive earlier than this will be asked to wait in the office until 8:30am and parents will be called as a reminder.

Like always, please get in touch with us with any questions or concerns. Call or email your classroom teacher, call the front office or email me nicole.comerford@education.vic.gov.au

Have a lovely weekend.

Take Care,

Nicole Salmon (Comerford)

District Swimming Trials

On Thursday 15th of February, students from Mansfield Primary School competed in the District Swim Trials. Those students who put their hand up to participate in an event, competed against other schools in the district and those students that were successful, will then go on to Division at Wangaratta on the 1st of March.

Everybody that participated had a great time, especially as they got to swim in the nice cool water on a hot summer’s day. It was a great way for the students to put their swimming skills to the test after their swimming lessons in term four last year. All the students represented the MPS values well by showing good sportsmanship and cheering on other schools and their peers. Overall, it was a great day with heaps of fun in the sun and water. Well done to all those MPS students who made it through to the next level!
