Cross Country is one of those whole school events where we see such exceptional sportsmanship and this year’s event did not disappoint! Wherever each student came in the event they celebrated each other for participating and ‘having a go’. Our PBS expected behaviours of respect, resilience, engage and excel shone through while having lots of fun as a team. Congratulations to our amazing sports team/leaders who demonstrated such kindness on the day. Their positive encouragement and support to get some children across the line demonstrates the values we encourage at CPS. A huge thank you to Mr Marshall for organising this event, he hasn’t lost his expert bike riding skills (yet) while making commentary.
Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) framework has been implemented across CPS for the last few years. This whole school approach supports us in creating positive learning environments. Our school values guide the behaviour of everyone in our community: staff, students, parents and community members. This is achieved by developing proactive systems to define, teach and support appropriate student behaviour and actively involve parents to support and engage with the PBS framework. Every fortnight we have whole school expected behaviours and what these look like in everyday school life. A number of constructive verbal, non-verbal and tangible responses are used to strengthen the desired behaviours of students. This fortnight expected behaviours are:
Excel- We seek and take on feedback to improve.
We are seeing a high percentage of COVID-19 and Influenza cases across the school. Please let the class teacher know if your child has COVID so we can inform other parents in the class of a positive case. Please do not send your child to school if they are showing flu like symptoms, we will ask you to collect your child from school if they show any signs while at school. We continue to educate the children about good hygiene; wash/disinfect their hands, cough into their sleeve and avoid touching their face. We have sanitiser in all areas across the school and ensure good ventilation in classes.
Don’t forget!! Enrolments for Kindergarten and Pre-Primary are now open!! Please remember to submit your enrolment by 24 July. We would appreciate it if you could spread the word to any new families in our community who have first time Kindy children to enrol.
