2025, It's a Wrap Up.

Point Lonsdale Primary School

Friday 19th December 2025

From Ms A's Desk

We made it! Final day, final assembly and lots of tears, laughter and shared memories.

Our 2025 Leaders conducted their final assembly and introduced our 2026 Leaders Maisie Brown, Arlo Gill, Sophie Williams and Ryan Thom. Congratulations to our new leaders and a huge thank you to our 2025 Leaders for all their work this year.

Yesterday was a huge day with our Graduation Assembly which was a celebration of students in true Lonnie style. The Leaders gave their final speeches, all received their Graduation certificates and demonstrated in awards and behaviour all the qualities that make PLPS students so special and make us proud.

There were many awards presented and we are immensely grateful to all these community groups; individuals and businesses who support us. Thank you to:

  • Queenscliffe/Point Lonsdale Lions Club
  • Ocean Grove Rotary Club
  • Cosmopolitan Lodge

Thank you to all who attended and made this day special, including students from years F-4 and their teachers who formed a guard of honor for students as they exited the assembly.

Final Weeks

While this week was our final one for the year, we should make mention of some key events that took place. Students sang at the Annual Lighting of the Christmas Tree and Juno was one of the featured story writers. The cultural leaders organised our annual who school picnic and last week’s colour run.

We held a student market featuring stalls from Years 4-6 entrepreneurs who donated $300 to Christ Church Geelong as a contribution to their Christmas Lunch for the homeless. The leaders organised a further food collection to add to the Christmas cheer. The money and food items were presented  to very grateful representatives this week, and in talking to students mentioned that on Wednesday morning 78 people had lined up hoping for a hearty breakfast.

In another community focused initiative, we collected and donated a tower of toilet paper to Cottage by the Sea.

We also played the annual Year 2/3 Transition Cricket Match which has the winning year level added to the Thomas Rome Shield, Congratulations Year 3!

Finally, we participated in a Postcards to Ukraine activity where we drew pictures and messages on postcards to be sent to the Ukraine. We received a lovely message saying some had been sent to an orphanage and others sent to Postcards to the Front for defenders on the frontlines as they love cards from children.

It has been busy but each task demonstrates the care and compassion we hope to instill.
