Our fantastic Kindergarten class K Wheat(ies) dove into Term 4 with the same enthusiasm and zest they've shown all year! Now seasoned pros at school routines, our littlest members of the school are getting excited to start climbing the stairs up to Year 1!
This term, we've witnessed an inspiring surge of self-driven learning during Investigation times, with the students delving into projects sparked by their own interests. The classroom iPads have been buzzing with activity as our K Wheat(ies) use the 'Draw and Tell' app to create their own narrated story masterpieces.
The term has been punctuated with amazing visits that have broadened our horizons. Plastic Free Boy made a splash with his enlightening talk on the importance of our oceans, the precious coral ecosystems, and the devastating impact of plastic waste. Patti the Pig trotted into our hearts with her message on the importance of recycling and reducing waste to care for our beautiful planet.
A highlight for the term was the visit from Ellis' Blue-tongued lizard, Claws. Our K Wheat(ies) were fascinated to learn about his habitat, diet, and the incredible ability to regrow his tail! This real-life connection to nature has been a fantastic stimulus for our informative writing pieces.
We've seen remarkable growth in our K Wheat(ies) throughout the year, and as Term 4 winds down, we're gearing up to celebrate their numerous achievements. And with the festive season upon us, we're eagerly anticipating getting into the holiday spirit. There's a buzz of excitement as rumours of a visit from a very cheeky elf circulate through the classroom!
Balmain Public School children are expected to wear full school uniform, including a school hat, every day. All children are required to wear full school uniform when representing the school on excursions, at sporting events or at cultural activities.
