Holiday Jobs
During the Easter School holidays, the COLA was built in the Eastern playground. It is magnificent! The structure is quite high, so it lets light into the classrooms adjoining it, but as it is so big it covers most of the playground and thus provides a wonderful outdoor environment for the students even when it is raining. A big thank you to Fiona Phillips who donated the cost of the COLA to the school and also to Spanline who did the construction.
All the areas of the school that were impacted by the flood, have been re-carpeted and the affected classrooms have been functioning since the beginning of the term. Thank you for your patience at the end of last term regarding the disruption to normal routines. Unfortunately, the office area, including the staffroom have yet to be finished as much of the cabinetry got wet. The front office is safe to visit but it will be a while before the area is back to its original design.
ANZAC DAY Service
Havenlee School had its ANZAC Day service on Monday 6th May as part of our weekly assembly, for the whole school. The senior students lead the ceremony; with individual classes laying wreaths.
Staff Changes
Congratulations to Deanna Duncan who has been given a permanent job at Havenlee School. She is now the Blue Gum teacher. We also welcome Sarah Sweeney and Jane Atkinson who are working as part time teachers to cover RFF across the school for the rest of the year.
Havenlee Sign
Unfortunately, the Havenlee School sign at the front of the school is temporarily out of action as the cover is broken. It will be up and running again when it is fixed.
Havenlee School Annual Report
The 2023 Havenlee School Annual Report has been published. A digital version can be found on the school website and hard copies can be requested at the office. I would like to thank all those who contributed to the planning and content of this report. If you would like any further information regarding the Havenlee School Annual Report, please don’t hesitate to contact me on 4421 3777.
RAP awards
The end of term 2 whole school RAP award is the Disco. The principal RAP award party will be also at the end of the term for those who get enough RAP awards throughout the term.
Student sickness
With winter approaching, we will see an increase in respiratory illnesses and by working together, we will keep our school community healthy this term. If your child has any flu/cold like symptoms (eg: temperature, cough, sore throat etc), please keep your child at home until they are symptom free and seek medical advice if symptoms become persistent or ongoing. We have students at the school with low immunity and we want to keep everyone as safe and well as possible.
