As part of our commitment to providing a safe learning environment, we ask families to ensure that aerosol products are not brought to school.

This includes:

• Aerosol deodorants (please pack roll-on deodorant only if required)
• Aerosol food products
• Spray paint or any other aerosol cans

We are aware of reports of young people in the broader community misusing inhalant products (sometimes referred to as "chroming") and we would like to reassure families that we do not have any concerns that this is occurring at our school, however, by implementing the above expectations, we can maximise safety across our school.

As we approach the busy afternoon pick up period, we'd like to remind all families that learning continues across our school right up until the end of the day.

To help maintain a safe and respectful learning environment, we ask that younger siblings:

• Stay with their parent or carer at all times.
• Do not run through walkways or around school buildings.
• Remain off playground equipment.
• Stay out of garden beds and landscaped areas.
• Stay away from staff and parent car parks, including riding bikes and playing with toys in these areas.

Our staff will continue to provide friendly reminders where needed to help ensure our school remains a safe, respectful and calm environment for everyone.

Our Parent–Teacher Interviews are coming up on Tuesday 8th September in the School Hall.

All parents and carers are very welcome, and we strongly encourage you to take this opportunity to meet with your child’s teacher and discuss their learning, progress and next steps. This will be the last organised opportunity this year to speak with your child’s teacher about their learning.

Please make a booking via SOBS, or contact your child’s class teacher directly to arrange a time. The SOBS link has been released via Audiri.

Social media continues to be a huge concern for our school with students telling staff they are on TikTok in school uniform and regularly communicating via Kids Messenger, sometimes in a very disrespectful manner. As parents, one of the most effective ways to keep children safe is by keeping them off social media and communication platforms until they are age appropriate to access social media platforms and group chats. Children are often unaware of the dangers of releasing personal information via group chats with wider friendship circles. This can include their school, school uniform, personal address, current location, year level and even their teacher’s name. Students can also access chats via Roblox and other gaming platforms to release this information. It is not unusual for students to create fake email addresses to sign up to these platforms without their parents’ knowledge too.

Our school team are asking parents to set firm boundaries around social media and communication platforms at home. We continue to be very concerned around how students are communicating online outside of school hours. We want our staff time to be focused on teaching and learning in the classroom, not navigating disrespectful online communications that are brought into our school from home. Thank you for your support with this.

We also remind families that all interactions with school staff should be respectful and in line with the Department of Education's Parent and Community Code of Conduct. Our staff are committed to supporting every child and family and deserve to be treated with courtesy and respect. We appreciate your partnership in maintaining positive, respectful communication at all times.

If you would like to meet with your child’s teacher before school, please contact them directly to arrange a time. Thank you for respecting that they are very busy getting the day organised before school and can not always stop what they are doing to speak to you.

Planning for Prep 2027 is well underway at Beaudesert State School, and we encourage families to enrol now and begin their child’s transition to school with us.

Our first Prep Transition Day called ‘Step into Prep’, will be held on Thursday 17th September, from 9:50am–11:30am. Families are asked to meet us at the front of the school. Parents and carers are required to remain on site during the session and we will provide access to a staffroom and a Camp Australia-sponsored morning tea in R Block.

Prep interviews are well underway, so now is the perfect time to secure your enrolment and interview.

The Term 4 calendar has many important dates in the lead up to the end of year celebrations. We will release this in the last week of Term 3 via our Audiri app.

Term 4 swimming is scheduled for Prep and Year 2; alongside our Year 3-6 swimming carnival. Thank you to Camp Australia who have sponsored all Prep students to attend the swim safe program free of charge this year.

On Thursday 10th and Friday 11th September, selected students will be representing our school in the local NRL and Netball Kingfisher Cup. Mr Ed Brimelow will be leading the NRL team and Mrs Nat Ford will be leading the Netball team.

In order to participate, students must meet attendance and behaviour criteria that was communicated at the beginning of the year. These expectations include the lead up to the carnival and on the days. This activity is additional to our usual HPE program and is designed as a reward for positive behaviour and commitment to school attendance.

Soon we will begin staff planning for 2027 classes. Our staff have a great deal of knowledge of all of our students and spend a great deal of time placing students with the right teacher, balancing academic and social needs, as well as considering any requirements for students with disabilities and other diverse learning needs.

Composite classes that may be formed are not streamed and will have a diverse mix of all learners. Our teachers are trained to teach across all year levels including composite classes. I have a great deal of confidence in all of my teachers and know that all parents and students should be extremely comfortable knowing we have such a dedicated and capable group of teachers at our school.

I am happy to receive requests for placement of children relating to social or family needs (i.e. not being in the same class as family members or strong friendships that can actually hamper learning) but will not be considering any requests by parents for a certain teacher. Please note, that while we will seriously consider your requests in this area we may not be able to honour everyone’s wishes. Please submit these requests directly to me in writing to the front office or via email at achan224@eq.edu.au no later than Friday 9th October. Requests after this date will not influence decision making. 

A friendly reminder to all families and visitors that, under Work Health and Safety (WHS) requirements, shoes must be worn at all times while on school grounds. This includes when attending school events, visiting classrooms or collecting students.

We also remind everyone that smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited on school grounds. We appreciate the cooperation of our entire school community in helping us maintain a safe, healthy and respectful environment for our students, staff and families.

As we come to the end of another busy and rewarding term, I would like to thank our students, staff and families for their continued support, commitment and contribution to our school community. It has been wonderful to see our students learning, growing and making the most of the many opportunities available to them.

I hope everyone enjoys a well-deserved break, and I look forward to seeing our students return refreshed and ready for another fantastic term of learning.

🌟 It has been a very busy Term 3 and we still have plenty to look forward to! We started off continuing our celebration of NAIDOC week 🖤💛❤️ and taking part in an Indigenous games day; we celebrated 100 days of Prep 👵👴 where all the students dressed up like they were 100 years old and had a wonderful morning taking part in activities, games and play; we celebrated Book Week 📚 dressing up as our favourite book characters and got to attend an exciting show from JC Action Sports 🚴.

📖 This term we are focusing on Non-Fiction texts to learn facts about animals. In English, we are learning to label animals and write simple factual sentences about them. We have started to embark on our reading journey 📚, borrowing decodable texts which are coming home each week in our homework folders. Please remember to bring these back to the classroom each week so we can swap them for a new one.

🔬 In Science we are learning all about the similarities and differences of plants and animals. This week we are excited to welcome a visit from Wild Rangers 🦎🐍 who are bringing in some animals for us learn about too.

➕ In Maths, we are learning about positional language, long and short activities and when events take place throughout the day. In HASS 🏡 we are learning all about special places and how to take care of them.

🍎 Prep Teachers

🌟 Term 3 has been very busy for the Year 1's. In English 📖, the students have been learning how to write information reports and will be using this knowledge to create their very own information report on an animal 🦘🦉. They have been learning to incorporate headings and facts as well as diagrams into their work.

➕ In Maths, students have been learning how to skip count in 2's, 5's and 10's. Science 🔬 investigations, this term, are looking at habitats 🌿 and how different habitats meet the needs of living things.

🚒 The Year 1 students thoroughly enjoyed their visit from our local Firefighters where they learnt about Fire Safety and were also lucky enough to experience spraying the fire hose.

📚 We had a wonderful time during Book Week and we loved seeing all of the students in their amazing costumes. Year 1 students are looking forward to our upcoming Junior Sports Day 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ and Wild Rangers Incursion 🦎 where they will learn about some of Australia's native animals and their habitats, as well as sharing their own knowledge about how these habitats support the needs of animals.

🌟 This term in Year 2 we have been working extremely hard on constructing our information reports 📖 on a variety of different animals 🐨🦎🦜. Our students are looking forward to the Wild Rangers incursion 🦘 where they will be able to see the animal they have been writing about.

🔬 In Science we have been conducting a multitude of experiments regarding how sound travels through different materials. Our students have loved being little scientists 👩‍🔬👨‍🔬 exploring cup phones, balloon vibrations 🎈, rubberbands and instruments 🎶!

🕰️ In HASS, we have travelled back to the olden days to see how cleaning, travel and cooking used to be done.

🌟 Term 3 has been a super busy and exciting term for Year 3! It has been filled with lots of learning, creativity 🎨 and, of course, plenty of fun. It has been wonderful to see the students continue to grow in confidence and enthusiasm across all areas of their learning.

✍️ In English, we have been working hard on developing our Information Reports. Students spent time researching different countries 🌏 and learning how to organise their information clearly and effectively. Our main focus was creating an information report on Papua New Guinea 🇵🇬. Students have used paragraphing, headings, compound sentences and topic specific vocabulary to create interesting and informative pieces of writing. They have shown great persistence throughout the writing process, from researching and planning through to drafting and editing their work. Well done, Year 3! 👏

🕐 In Mathematics, students have been developing their understanding of angles, time and money 💰. We have enjoyed exploring these concepts through a range of hands-on activities and real life situations. The time assessment involved measuring and recording the duration of different activities and was definitely up there as one of our favourite learning experiences. Students enjoyed putting their time knowledge into practice while working collaboratively and having plenty of fun along the way.

🪨 In Science, students explored different types of rocks and soils. Through observations, investigations 🔍 and hands on activities, we discovered that there is much more to dirt than we first thought! Students enjoyed examining the different properties and characteristics of rocks and soils and learning about how they are used in our everyday world. Our exploring and investigating was far more interesting than expected.

📚 Book Week was another major highlight for us this term. It was fantastic to see everyone's creativity shine through in their wonderful costumes and character choices. The excitement and enthusiasm for reading throughout the week was wonderful to see. Well done to everyone for the effort you put into your creative costumes and ideas! 🌟

🎨 Preparing pieces for The Beaudesert Show has also been a highlight of the term. Across the board, our students have entered work into many different categories, including painting, handwriting, drawing, colouring and media. It has been wonderful to see the care, creativity and effort that students have put into preparing their entries. We are very proud of everyone who participated and had a go. 🏅

🌱 It has certainly been a busy and rewarding term, and Year 3 students should be very proud of all they have achieved. Thank you to all our students and families for your continued support throughout Term 3.

🌼 What a beautiful time of year – Spring has finally sprung!

📚 A highlight of the term has been Book Week, with this year's wonderful theme being Symphony of Stories. We all had such a fantastic time celebrating the joy and magic that books and stories bring to our lives. Throughout the week, students had the opportunity to explore a variety of stories, characters and authors, while taking part in fun and engaging activities that encouraged their imagination and creativity. The excitement reached a special high during our Book Week Parade, where students proudly dressed as their favourite book characters and shared their love of reading with the school community. It was wonderful to see the thought, effort and creativity that went into the costumes, with so many colourful and imaginative characters filling our school grounds. The parade was truly a colourful celebration of reading, and it was lovely to see students smiling, sharing their favourite stories and enjoying this special moment together. Events like Book Week remind us of the important role that reading plays in developing imagination, vocabulary, creativity and a lifelong love of learning. A huge thank you to our families for supporting the celebrations and helping make Book Week 2026 such a memorable and enjoyable experience for our students!

🖤💛❤️ Another wonderful highlight from the beginning of the term was our NAIDOC Week celebrations. Students enjoyed a special assembly featuring outstanding performances by our JJ Club, as well as engaging in Indigenous Games sessions held on the oval. One of the most memorable parts of the week, however, was seeing so many of our Year 4 Indigenous students proudly receiving awards to recognise their academic achievements, excellent attendance and the positive effort and contribution they make to our school community. It was a very special moment to celebrate their successes, acknowledge their hard work and see them recognised in front of their peers, teachers and families. We are incredibly proud of each and every student! 🌟

🎨 We have had a fantastic time this term learning about and experimenting with the art styles of Quentin Blake, Vincent van Gogh and Pablo Picasso. The students have loved getting creative and trying out new techniques inspired by these amazing artists. The hardest part has definitely been choosing which of our awesome artworks to display in our Art Gallery! We have so many imaginative, unique and spectacular pieces to choose from, and we are incredibly proud of the creativity and effort the students have shown. Make sure you come along and see their wonderful work!

🖼️ Arts Showcase - Tuesday, 8th September 2026, 2:50-5:30pm in the Arts Room.

💻 Our Year 4 students have been learning how to use PowerPoint during English and HASS lessons, building their skills in creating slides, adding images and bringing their ideas to life on the big screen. It’s been exciting to see their creativity shine as they combine technology with their learning.

🌏 Students have been exploring how we can care for our environment and protect our landscapes. Our focus has been on discovering the importance of looking after our planet and making small changes that can ultimately have a big impact.

💧 In Science, students have been learning about the water cycle, constructing representations and describing how water moves through the environment. They have also been investigating how data can be used to make informed decisions about water use and conservation. Students have enjoyed sharing their findings and developing their ability to use appropriate scientific vocabulary to explain their understanding.

➕ In Maths the Year 4s have been working with money and learning how to count and give change in real-life situations. Students have enjoyed problem solving, playing money games and building confidence with skills that they'll use every day. As you can imagine – this has challenged some of us more than others. We will continue to work on this important life skill.

📐 Students have also compared angles relative to a right-angle using angle names. Year 4 students have been building their confidence and fluency with number operations. They have been using their knowledge of addition and multiplication facts to solve problems involving addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Students have also been developing their problem-solving skills by finding unknown values in number sentences and explaining how they worked out their answers.

🔢 Another focus has been following and creating algorithms that generate sets of numbers, allowing students to explore and identify patterns and make predictions about what comes next. It has been wonderful to see students developing their mathematical thinking, reasoning and confidence when working with numbers. We continue to encourage our students to develop their independence, resilience and confidence, particularly as they navigate challenges and new experiences throughout the remainder of the year.

😂 All classes have been reading all about the shenanigans of the revolting (but HILARIOUS) Mr & Mrs Twit in readiness for our Term 4 English Assessment – it’s going to be great fun writing our own joke/chapter about these two terrible monstrous beasts!!

☀️ With the holidays just around the corner, we would like to wish all of our families a safe, happy and relaxing break. We hope you enjoy spending quality time together, making the most of the beautiful weather and enjoying this wonderful time of year.

🌟 Year 5 students have been working hard across all learning areas this term and have enjoyed exploring a wide range of engaging topics.

⛏️ In English and HASS, students have been learning about the Australian Gold Rush. They have researched life on the goldfields, different methods used to mine for gold, the challenges faced by people on the diggings, and the social, political and economic impacts of the Gold Rush. Students are now using their research to plan and write detailed information texts featuring well-structured paragraphs, relevant facts and topic-specific vocabulary.

🎥 Our Gold Rush learning is also continuing in Media Arts. Students are beginning to plan their own BTN-style news reports about the Gold Rush. They will develop scripts and consider how voice-overs, images, sound effects and other media techniques can be used to communicate information in an interesting and engaging way.

🔬 In Science, students have been investigating the properties of solids, liquids and gases, with a particular focus on how gases behave when compressed. Our Science learning was brought to life at the beginning of the term through our exciting excursion to SparkLab, where students explored scientific concepts through a variety of interactive, hands-on experiences. Back in the classroom, practical activities and class discussions have continued to develop students’ understanding of how particles move and behave in each state of matter.

📐 In Mathematics, students have been developing their understanding of three-dimensional shapes, nets, symmetry and transformations. They have practised identifying the features of 3D objects, connecting objects to their two-dimensional nets and describing how shapes can be translated, reflected and rotated.

🌱 It has also been wonderful to see so many Year 5 students stepping into leadership roles and finding ways to contribute to our school community. Students have shown initiative by creating and leading clubs, helping our Prep students and generously giving their time to support other activities and areas across the school. We are very proud of the responsibility, kindness and confidence they continue to demonstrate. 👏

📅 As we move into a busy period of assessment, regular attendance is especially important. This also applies to specialist lessons, as students have limited lesson time in which to complete their assessment tasks.

✨ We are incredibly proud of everything our Year 5 students have achieved so far and look forward to seeing them continue to learn, grow and shine throughout the remainder of the term.

🚀 We've had a busy and exciting Term 3! With only a couple of weeks to go, we'll fill you in on some of the amazing things we've been getting up to.

✍️ In English, the students have been working busily to create an informative text.

➕ In Mathematics, we've been learning about using all four operations with decimal numbers, conversions of measurement units and fractions (yes more fraction work! 😄).

🌏 In HASS, we've been mapping absolute locations and comparing data on why people choose to migrate to Australia, particularly focusing on social, cultural and environmental factors.

🪐 In Science, we've been observing planets in space. Students are working hard to model the relationship between the Sun and the planets in our solar system and explain how Earth's movement and position relative to the Sun causes observable patterns like day and night.

🏕️ Finally, we have an amazing upcoming adventure next term! CAMP! Our students will spend five exciting days taking part in a range of engaging activities designed to challenge them, build teamwork and strengthen their problem-solving skills. It will be a fantastic opportunity for students to step outside their comfort zones, work together and create some wonderful memories with their classmates.

🎓 But that's not all! Students will also begin preparing for their next big learning journey, high school! With transition activities and plenty of exciting experiences ahead, there is certainly lots to look forward to.

💙 With such a busy and exciting term ahead, it is important that students make the most of their time at home to rest, recharge and get plenty of sleep so they are ready to tackle all of the adventures coming their way!

Our Junior students enjoyed a fantastic morning of fun, fitness and friendly competition during this year's Junior Sports Day! 🎉

Students rotated through a variety of exciting activities, including hurdles, ball games and team challenges, demonstrating excellent teamwork, sportsmanship and enthusiasm throughout the morning. 🤝⚽🎯

The excitement continued with the individual 50m sprint events, where students had the opportunity to showcase their speed and determination. ⚡🏁

One of the biggest highlights of the day was our very first Teacher Race, with Miss Palliser impressing students and spectators alike with her lightning-fast sprint down the track! 👏🏃‍♀️💨

The morning wrapped up with a colourful and energetic Fun Run, bringing plenty of smiles, laughter and school spirit. 🌈😊

A special thank you to our staff for their hard work in organising and supporting the day, and to our amazing Year 6 students who assisted throughout the event. Your efforts helped make the day such a memorable success! ⭐👏

👋 Hello everyone,

📚 It has been a very busy Term 3 in Japanese. Our classes have been learning about housing in Japan, particularly bathrooms and toilets and the many differences. It has been really interesting. We are also continuing to read and write the Japanese hiragana and some basic kanji. Our students are very clever indeed. 🌟

🤖 Doraemon has been busy encouraging our students in classrooms this term – congratulations to 3C, 4B, 5A and 4A who deservedly won Doraemon for great behaviour in Japanese lessons. 👏🏆 You can see Doraemon here making good use of 5A’s Gold Rush Learning Wall.

In Week 3, Beaudesert State School had the pleasure of hosting a group of students and teachers from Japan for a special cultural exchange. Before they arrived, students across the school created colourful posters and messages to make our Japanese visitors feel welcome. 🎨💌

🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Our Year 6 buddies played a very special role during the visit. They helped the Japanese students settle in, join school activities and experience everyday school life in Australia. It was fantastic to see friendships develop as the students talked, laughed, shared experiences and learnt about each other’s cultures. 😊🌏

🎨 One of the highlights was an Aboriginal art workshop with local Indigenous artist Waylene Currie. The Year 6 buddies and Japanese students painted boomerangs and learnt about Aboriginal art and culture. 🪃✨ Waylene created a beautiful painting for our visitors to take home as a meaningful reminder of their time in our community.

🐨🦘 Our visitors also enjoyed meeting some of Australia’s unique native animals during a visit from Wild Rangers Wildlife.

🌟 The visit was a wonderful opportunity for our students to build confidence, share Australian culture and experience international friendship right here at Beaudesert State School. Our Year 6 buddies did an excellent job representing our school and making our visitors feel at home. ❤️

🏠💖 We hope our Japanese friends returned home with many happy memories, and we look forward to welcoming them back again in the future!

🌟 It has been a busy semester in Technologies, with students from Prep to Year 6 developing their digital skills and learning how to use technology safely, creatively and responsibly.

📱 Prep students have been exploring digital devices and learning about the different parts and features of an iPad. They have also been introduced to Seesaw and are learning to use its different tools to draw, type, take photos, record their voice and share their learning. 🎨📷🎤⌨️

💻 Years 1 and 2 are investigating the purpose and features of digital systems and learning to use common digital tools to create, locate and share content. They are also developing an understanding of safe technology use, including recognising that digital tools may store personal information online. 🔍🌐🛡️

🔐 Years 3 and 4 are focusing on digital safety. Students are learning to securely access digital systems, create and share content, collaborate appropriately and understand what personal data is stored online and the risks associated with sharing it. 👥💡🌎

🖥️ Years 5 and 6 are extending their knowledge of online safety by exploring digital privacy and security, safe password management, phishing and scams, and how to identify reliable information online. 🔑🛡️📧 They are also learning about copyright and Creative Commons and how to appropriately use content created by others. ©️📚✅

🚀 It has been fantastic to see students building their confidence and capability as responsible digital citizens while developing the skills they need for the future. 🌟💻📱

🔥 Things are getting exciting in STEM Robotics as students prepare for their upcoming robot battles! 🤖🏆 Students are experimenting with different ways to code and improve their robots, testing strategies that might give them an advantage in the battle arena.

⚡ They are programming their robots to speed up when the pressure sensor is activated, stop and reverse when they detect the white border, and use plenty of spinning to outmaneuver their opponents. 🌀🤖💨

🛠️ There has been lots of testing, problem-solving and refining as students discover which combinations of coding and robot design work best. 💡🔧📈

🏆 We are looking forward to seeing how all their hard work comes together when the battles begin! ⚔️🤖🎉

👏 It has been fantastic to see students developing their coding skills, thinking creatively and working through challenges as they design, build and improve their robots. 🚀💻✨

🌟 What an exciting time in The Arts this term. We have been focusing on Dance and Music in our lessons and the students are enjoying moving and singing. 💃🎵🎤

🎶 In Prep, Year 1 and Year 2, we have been learning the words to our school song: Beauy Spirit and look forward to making an updated video and recording of this for our school. 🎬🎙️⭐

🎭 In Year 3 and 4, the students have been exploring song and dance through musicals and have been working on a collaboratively choreographed item for “It’s a Hard Knock Life!” from the musical Annie. 🎩✨🎶

🥁 In Year 5 and 6, the students have been exploring the technical aspects of music and movement through body percussion and found objects. 👐🎵 They are progressing through their understanding of the music elements: Tempo, Dynamic, Lyric and Pitch 🎼📚 to create and choreograph music and dance of their own. 💡🎶💃

🌈 It has been wonderful to see students building their confidence, creativity and performance skills while working together through music and dance. ⭐👏🎭🎵

Our 2027 Prep transition program is already underway at Beaudesert State School! Each week, students from our ECDP and local kindergartens visit the school to take part in a range of activities designed to help them feel confident and ready for Prep.

The students spend time in The Hub with our Hub teachers and teacher aides, where they are learning about the Zones of Regulation, behaviour expectations and communication strategies. They are also becoming familiar with important school routines and facilities, including using the playground, bubblers and toilets.

As the program progresses, our transition students will soon have the opportunity to eat and play alongside our current Prep students, helping them become familiar with the routines, environment and people they will see when they begin Prep in 2027.

We are excited to watch our future Prep students grow in confidence as they take these important first steps towards starting school!

To attend our program, you must register your child. You can register an account with us at Camp Australia - Parent Portal or by downloading our Camp Australia smartphone app from the Apple App Store or on Google Play. Once registered, it's easy to make bookings and manage your account.
