Burton Primary School Newsletter

Term 2, Week 7, 2023

From the Principal

Dear Parents and Carers,

You may be aware that Burton Primary School has a partnership with The Smith Family.

Every Thursday two Smith Family workers-Sarah and Zoe- attend our Community Hub and provide services to our school community.

Students/families who are School Card holders are able to access:

1. the Smith Family Learning for Life Scholarship. This scholarship provides $478 per child per year for school expenses, such as uniforms, camps, excursions, and other school expenses.

2. Access to a Family Partnership Coordinator who can assist with issues relating to school.

3. the Student2Student Reading Program

4. Access to Educational Programs both at home and through school

5. Food vouchers and information to access other local food services.

6. Access and referrals to other service providers and information about local events and activities that your family can access.

If your child/children qualify for School Card, you are able to access these services. Currently, nearly 50 Burton students are receiving the Learning for Life Scholarship.

Sarah and Zoe are here every Thursday. We encourage you to come and talk with them. Burton’s Bilingual School Assistants are available for interpreting and translation if needed.

Sarah can be contacted at any time, Monday to Friday. Sarah’s details are:
