Rozelle is a place where Aboriginal children learned, played and celebrated their culture for thousands of years on this beautiful, natural land. As we learn, play and celebrate together on this land, we honour the Wangal people of the Eora nation and pay our respects to elders both past and present.
As we conclude Term 3 today, I want to acknowledge the academic achievements, engagement and enthusiasm of our students in so many extra curricula programs and the appreciation of our supportive school community. A highlight of the term was our Year 6 Production ‘On with the Show’ last Thursday which once again showcased the incredible talent and spirit that exists within our school. A performance of this scale and calibre, highlights the expertise of many creative and dedicated individuals working collaboratively. The students worked so hard rehearsing, learning lines and lyrics, practising dance moves and choreography, working tirelessly with the band and at home to learn their parts and their music. An all-round impressive performance! At Rozelle we are also very lucky to have such a talented staff. This year we have once again recruited Mel Dunne to work with the dance group, assisted by Liz Singleton. Caris Doyle and Jen Mclachlan conducting and costuming the exceptional choir group. Lisa Tohver, Claire Rolland and Isabella Lungo heading up the drama group. We’ve been fortunate to have Chloe Genion to assist with sets, props and costumes. Thanks to Abbie Walker and Alden Kwok who have worked as the backstage crew on this show. I would like to thank all the staff for making all that possible! Thank you to the parents who helped with costumes. A special thanks to Helen Crimmins for her incredible dedication, effort and expertise that she has brought to the band program and our creative arts offerings at Rozelle for the past 20 years. Amazing! A special thanks must go to Lisa Tohver, the driving force for our entire team of students and staff ensuring the night was a huge success.
P&C OUTDOOR MOVIE NIGHT
Last Friday, the P&C ran a highly successful outdoor movie night, with a screening of the popular movie Encanto. The weather was perfect and the tiger turf was full of Rozelle families enjoying the warm spring evening. We are so lucky to have a P&C that organises great events that bring the community together. Thank you RPS P&C!
