That’s a wrap!
After months of planning and organising, it was so much fun to be in the auditorium on Monday night witnessing our students starring on-stage and seeing our whole school community come together as one – and having a ball! As a staff team, we have been overwhelmed with the positive response from our community in relation to Lambton Live. Thank you to those that shared feedback and sent us messages last week, they were sincerely appreciated and gratefully received. The greatest boost for us as a school is to know how much the evening meant to each of you. Yes, we do plan to do Lambton Live again, but we think it is best as a bi-annual event rather than each year. So for those of you with us for a few more years, keep an ear to the ground in 2025 for what comes next. Having said that, we don’t intend for 2024 to be a year off. I am in the process of planning and scheming a different kind of whole-school event for 2024. Something for students and families that won’t be as demanding on our staff nor as disruptive to school routine as a performance night is, however hopefully still as meaningful and something that compliments Lambton Live in the year between events. Stay tuned for more detail next year.
Staffing changes
As we close out Term 3, I’d like to use this opportunity to update the community on a few staffing changes for Term 4. This term, our total school enrolment has steadily climbed to the point that we are now eligible for a 15th class teacher. Obviously, this far into the year we will not restructure classes, instead class teachers will receive additional RFF to assist them with managing the larger classes they now have. In this RFF role, we welcome Miss Erin Cattle to the Lambton team. Miss Cattle will teach History for Term 4 to all classes K-6.
There is also a teaching change to occur in 4/5S. Miss Camilleri will move to Monday to Wednesday and Mr Matthew Coates takes over teaching responsibilities on Thursday and Friday for 4/5S. Mr Semmens will be released off class in Term 4 to support me with executive tasks required in leading our school.
The very successful Intensive Learning Support Program (ILSP) formerly filled by Miss Camilleri will be shared in Term 4 between Mr Coates Monday-Wednesday and Miss Jessica Wagner on Thursday and Friday.
End of Term
This is the last newsletter for Term 3. I would like to thank all of our families for all of your support and encouragement again throughout the term. It has been a busy one but a very rewarding one. There’s lots to look forward to in Term 4 including: Stage 3 Canberra excursion, a Stage 2 Reptile Park excursion, Grandparents Day (Tuesday 31/10), the P&C Trivia Night, Year 6 Fun Day and our 2024 Kinder Orientation program.
For now, I wish all of our students and their families a lovely school holiday break.
