Welcome to a new school year.

Today was a very settled and happy start to the year.

The first day back at school is always such a great day –it is wonderful to welcome so many smiling faces back to school.

Our first newsletter for the year is brief, in order to give you the information about classes this year.

The class structure for 2026 is as follows:

This year Zig Zag Public School has an enrolment of 118 students this year, which gives us an entitlement of 5 classes.

· K/1 Mrs Dudley

· 1/2 Mrs McMahon on Mondays & Tuesday/ Ms Nicholson Wednesday, Thursday and Friday

· 3/4 Mrs Wood on Monday/ Mr Gray on Tuesday through to Friday

· 4/5 Mrs Doran

· 5/6 Mrs Wallace

All staff take on many roles throughout the school year.

Additional Teaching staff are as follows:

· Mrs Savath is Assistant Principal for Curriculum Instruction.

Mrs Savath also provides release in every class for syllabus implementation.

This year ZZPS is entitled to an Assistant Principal position to support the school’s growing numbers.

· Mrs Wallace and Mrs Wood are filling this new position during Term 1.

· Mrs Hookham continues in the role of Infants intervention and Library Teacher.

· Mrs Wood and Mrs George will be teaching Primary Intervention using the MacqLit program.

· Mrs George will be providing Teacher release for most classes- teaching History and Geography units of work.

Our Teachers Aides

Continue to support our students, as well as running other

Intervention programs across the school.

· Mrs Robinson will support Kindergarten and Stage 1 students.

· M/s Sharron and M/s Jade will support Primary classes.

Our Admin Staff:

· Mrs Dewar and Mrs Healey continue in their many roles in Administration.

· Mr Sheppeard continues in the General Assistant role, maintaining our beautiful playground.

· Alan continues as the school cleaner.

Our annual Swimming Carnival will be held on Friday 6th February. This is a whole school event. The children will come to school as normal and be transported to and from the pool by bus. The children will return to school in time for normal pickup and bus travel home.

Students should wear thier school uniform over the top of their swimmers.

The cost for entry into the pool and bus travel is $8 and can be paid in cash at the school office or on the School Bytes app.

We are encouraging Kindergarten parents to come, stay and support your child on the day.

 Dear Parents,

School photography day is coming up soon. Group and portrait photographs can be purchased by following the link below or by returning the order envelope with your payment to our photographer on school photo day.

School photography information:

• Online orders - do not require an envelope returned to your school
• Sibling Photos - Don’t forget to pre-order your sibling photos online up to 24 hours before photo day. We provide your school with a list of sibling orders right up to the day of photography, so no one misses out. If you miss the online order deadline, you can submit a completed sibling order envelope first thing in the morning of the day of photography, so your school is aware you want the photo taken and can bring your children together in time for it. Sibling photographs only apply to children enrolled at your school. Please note not all schools offer sibling photos
• Late fees - a late fee will be applied to each package purchased after photo day due to the additional cost of producing these packages separately
• Package delivery - School photographs will be returned approximately 6 weeks after the day of photography. Please note this delivery timeframe is dependent on proofing and additional photography days at your school.
• Previous Years’ photos - Past years’ photographs including sports, co-curricular and representative groups are also available to order under the “previous years or group photo” tabs at your school’s advancedorder site when you click on the “Order School Photos Here” button above. You can also order past packages, portrait images and gifts from your child’s unique, individual and secure advancedyou image archive site using the unique 9 digit image code found on packages you have ordered in the past

Dear Parents/Carers,

This is how we communicate with Parents/Carers.

On the Audiri App we send reminders out, dates for events, newsletters, P & C news, any school notifications.

On the School Bytes app we can send texts to parents, send emails, send absent notifications, parents can pay for school uniforms and excursions, parents can sign permission notes, do absenteeism notifications and much more.
