St Mary's Bulletin

Term 2 - Week 11 (3rd July, 2026)

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

Thank you for the warm welcome I have received from the School Community this week.

I am delighted to be at St Mary’s School and look forward to continuing my stay for the first two weeks of Term Three. We all trust that Mr Hamersley is enjoying his Long Service Leave.

Semester One Reports

Children’s first Semester Reports were emailed to you yesterday afternoon. Please take the time to sit down with your children and celebrate their achievements. While it is human nature to compare siblings and friends reports please try not to. Every child is unique and we all learn differently and we all have something to celebrate.  Thank you to our wonderful teachers for the time and effort that has gone into preparing the reports. If you have concerns about your child’s report, please book a time early in Term Three to speak to your child’s teacher.

Year 2/3 Assembly

We were wonderfully entertained by Miss Ariti’s Year 2/3 class this morning. It reminded us of the special journey our children embark on in Primary School. They grow not only academically but socially, spiritually and morally in preparation for their transition to Secondary school.

Miss Ariti has had a big week. We congratulate Georgia and Henry on their engagement and wish them a lifetime of love and laughter.

Parish Centenary

The Parish is celebrating 100 years of being an active faith community in Merredin on Sunday 2nd August. Please save the date in your calendar to support this important milestone. As part of the celebration, the school classrooms will be open for the community to visit and maybe have a little walk down memory lane.

Friday Sport - Change of Day for Term Three

Please note that in Term Three Friday Sport will be changing to a Monday. Students in PP-Year Six will therefore be required to wear their sports uniform (faction shirt and sports shorts/skort) on a MONDAY. They will wear their formal school uniform on Fridays. This will be for Term Three only. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Holidays

I would like to take the opportunity to thank the St Mary’s School Staff for their dedication to the education of your children over the last six months. It is time for them to have a well-deserved break to rest and be re-energised for Semester Two.

Have a lovely holiday with your children. If you are travelling, take care on the roads and I look forward to commencing Term Three with you all on Monday the 20th July.

Stay safe and well.

God Bless

Elizabeth Browner
