Thank You to our Holiday Watering Team

A veru big THANK YOU to our volunteer holiday watering team. Though we didn't get a great summer  (weather wise) , and we had a good amount of rain, it was wonderful to have families checking on our garden spaces and watering pots and general areas. Thank you to the Sutton, Mazara, Hayes, and Corcoran families.

Unfortunately we did have our basketball nets cut down from the rings so thsee will be replaced in next few weeks.

Code Of Conduct

Next week a Code of Conduct Policy will be sent home to every family.

We ask that parents read, sign and return to school. We require both parents to sign.

It is signed by all staff, contractors, and parents as expected conduct whilst on school premises or when representing the school.

Child Safety Permission & Expectation Forms

Next week will also sending home a PHOTO PERMISSION FORM. We ask that you read, sign and return. We will also send home a ICT (Internet/email/Social Media) Permission and Expectations Form. These are vital to help manage CYBERSAFETY at St Timothy's.  Children will not be permitted to use these resources within school without this documentation being returned,

Both these forms are CHILD SAFETY requirements, so we request a prompt return by Friday 16th February. Thank you

Stringybark School Camp

School Sports ( Kaboom) and Family Picnic

Our School Sports are going to look a little different this year. We are hoping to start almost immediately after school and have some traditional flat races ( varying distances) and relays followed by Kaboom from 5-6:30 pm which is a wonderful active fun social event.

We ask that families bring along a picnic to enjoy a very special evening together.

We are still co-ordinating/ finalising plans so final times ( pre Kaboom) will be confirmed in the next few weeks.  The 5 - 6:30pm is definite.

PLEASE KEEP THE DATE/TIME FREE!

2024 Year of Prayer

Pope Francis has proposed that 2024 should be marked as a year dedicated to prayer. At St Timothy's we will be  leading the chldren in a range of both individual and community prayer. For children that can be formal prayers, song, psalms or very simplistic reponses to their world. We start and end each day with prayer and also include meditation as a daily practice.

Prayer for My School

God, please bless my school. Thank You for all of the teachers that work so hard to help us learn. Thank You for recess and lunchtime, when we get to play with our friends. Thank You for providing a place where we can learn more about the world You created for us to live in, and how it works. Please keep my school safe. Protect all of the grown ups and kids that come to school everyday. Protect us from harm, and help us to be kind to each other. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Parish News

Parish Newsletter Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th February

This week’s gospel follows directly on from last week’s reading and, as is typical with Mark’s gospel, the events occur on the very same day. The urgency of the gospel is obvious in this week’s reading; Jesus had a very busy 24 hours! Having launched his public ministry in the synagogue earlier that day, Jesus accompanies his new disciples to meet some of their family and have a meal. However, on arriving at the home of Simon and Andrew, they find Simon’s motherin- law is sick. Unlike the public displays of his healing power that preceded and will follow this episode, Jesus does not say anything but simply takes the woman by the hand and helps her up. Her response of beginning to wait on Jesus and his disciples is a faith response and a recognitionof who Jesus is. A theme that runs through this gospel is that the disciples never fully understand who Jesus is. Here, a woman who has just met him recognises him as the Messiah and begins toserve him. Still on the same day, we see the expansion of Jesus’ healing ministry. On this one day he has cast an unclean spirit out of a possessed man in the synagogue, healed Peter’s mother-in-law of a fever and then healed the crowds of people who came to the door. The next morning he announces that they will take the ministry to the whole region of Galilee. In a very simple way, the gospel of Mark has described the growth of Jesus’ ministry from very humble isolated examples to a deliberate reaching out to the people of an entire region.
