TERM 1 WEEK 11 - 7 APRIL

Principal

As we near the end of another term, I would like to take this opportunity to reflect on the fantastic events that have taken place over the last few weeks in our school community. We recently had the pleasure of hosting school tours for our prospective kindergarten students, giving them and their families a glimpse into the vibrant learning environment we cherish here at Moruya Public School. It was heart warming to see the excitement among our future learners! Additionally, our Taste of School Kindergarten Open Day was a wonderful success. Families enjoyed sampling the wonderful activities and experiences our kindergarten program offers, and it was a wonderful opportunity for community engagement. Another highlight was the Year 6 Afternoon Tea, where our Year 6 students showcased the incredible skills they have developed through the Kitchen Garden program. Their enthusiasm was a joy to witness and the food they prepared was delicious.

Looking ahead, we are excited to remind you about our upcoming Easter Hat Parade, followed by morning tea. We warmly invite all families to join us in celebrating this festive event. It promises to be a wonderful occasion filled with creativity and community spirit. In addition, we have an action-packed week coming up with our Cross Country Carnival, AFL Skills Day, Soccer Knockout Competition, and Pyjama Day. Pyjama Day, initiated by our Student Representative Council (SRC), is a fantastic way for our students to express their voices and engage in school spirit. We appreciate the SRC's initiative and encourage all students to participate!

As we approach the school holidays, please note that the last day for students will be April 11. Our staff will return on Monday, April 28, for professional learning focused on High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE), and students will return on Wednesday, April 30. I also want to remind everyone that ANZAC Day falls on Friday, April 25, during the second week of the holidays. Our school will participate in the service in Moruya, and our Fife and Drum Band will perform at the Tuross service. Students who wish to participate in the Moruya service should meet in the park near the Adelaide Hotel in full school uniform at 10:30 am for a 10:45 am march. A separate notification will be sent out regarding these services.

I want to take this opportunity to wish everyone a happy and relaxing holiday break. Thank you for your continued support of our school community, and I look forward to seeing everyone back in Term 2.
