Principal's Message

What a wonderful week of student and community celebrations!

Tuesday as always was a spectacular night with an amazing showcase of the musical talent of the children. It's a wonderful way to celebrate together the end of a year and share in some Christmas spirit. Huge thank you to Mr Howesmith, Mr J and all the staff who helped put this spectacular event together.

Today we celebrated and acknowledged the exceptional achievements of students with the Awards and Leadership Assembly. These well deserved awards are in recognition of their hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence.

I would like to take this opportunity to express my appreciation to the people who are integral to the very fabric of CPS.

To the School Board, you play a fundamental role in shaping our unique community and your solid support and engagement have been invaluable in driving CPS forward. I extend a special thank you to Jane Hedley, SB Chair, who will be leaving CPS this year. Jane has been an exceptional contributor to various aspects of school governance, and her efforts have greatly benefited our entire school community. We warmly welcome Luke Vanson and Bailey Love as they take on the dual role of Chair position in the coming year.

A tremendous thank you goes out to the P & C, led by Jess Vanson, our President, and the Executive team, as well as to the parents who volunteer and come together to support our community. Your active involvement has provided numerous opportunities for our students to thrive in a inviting and inclusive learning and play environment. However, we need many, many more people to put their hands up to volunteer in 2024! Please take some time to have a look at the roles of the P & C and let Jess Vanson know if you can volunteer in any way, or you would like to know more information.

We must also acknowledge the incredible efforts of the DUCKs team, who have gone above and beyond in enhancing the sense of community. A special mention needs to go to Hamish Buddle, whose instrumental efforts have helped shape the DUCKs into the thriving group it is today. Hamish and family, we extend our deepest appreciation as you move on from CPS.

To the dedicated staff of CPS, I commend you for your unwavering commitment to our students. Your passion and tireless efforts have undoubtedly shaped our remarkable students. You should be immensely proud of the impact you have made.

Finally, to the CPS community, I would like to express my deepest gratitude. Together we are creating an environment where students thrive, are beautifully nurtured and where excellence is celebrated.

Thank you and all the very best to Mrs Gerrans and Mrs Downing who have taken up new and exciting positions at other local schools.

We warmly welcome two new staff members to our team for 2024, Mr Kirk Flemming and Julia Pember.

From all of us at CPS we would like to wish you all a safe and joyous festive season and a fabulous 2023!
