How amazing are our P & C and all the volunteers!
CPS has always had a generous and wonderful sense of community and last Sunday’s Welcome Picnic was proof of this, despite the weather. The kids had a ball! It was a wonderful time for families to share some fun times together and new families to meet the community. None of this could have happened without the generosity of the P & C team, impressive stuff!
A huge thank you to all the parents/carers who put their hands up as P & C volunteers. It’s the first time in many years that we have filled nearly all the positions so early in the year. We really appreciate your time, be it small or large, it all makes such a great difference to the lives of the CPS students.
We are aware of the ant issue across the school. Ants are extremely difficult to control due to their huge numbers and of course the use of pesticides in school is carefully managed. To try and reduce the issue we have had the school carefully fumigated (out of school hours). We encourage the students to ensure they shut their lunch boxes tightly and not leave open food in their bags.
To comply with CEO mandated instructions, we now have an external automated external defibrillator (AED). This is located outside the disabled toilet near the administration block. It has been registered with St Johns WA Community Frist Responder program. We encourage you to share this information with community in case of immediate need.
Some friendly reminders:
We are a nut aware school. We have several students who are anaphylaxis so we kindly request that you support these students by not sending food with your child that contain nuts.
To ensure our duty of care on school grounds, students are requested to wait out the front of the school if they arrive at school from 8.20. They are supervised by one of the Executive and released to classes at 8.35. If you bring your child to school, they are required to wait with you until the classroom is open. This is not a time for children to play on playgrounds, run around or play ball sports. We greatly appreciate you supporting our whole school focus on expected behaviours around safety.
We encourage parents to make a time through your child’s class Seesaw if you would like to discuss anything about your child. As you can appreciate before and after school are very busy times for teachers and not ideal for lengthy meetings.
Enjoy your long weekend!
