Yesterday our SJB staff engaged in a day of Professional Learning. As we continue to work towards embedding the MACS Vision for Instruction and Vision for Engagement a significant part of the day's agenda focused on Opportunities to Respond (OTRs), Intellectual Preparation and Learning Walks. The focus of the day emphasised full participation of students across all areas of learning, planning future Learning Walks for peer observations and Intellectual Preparation, allowing time for staff to plan their future learning walks and intentional OTRs for full participation and engagement of students.
Additionally the day included work in the area of Social Emotional Learning, as well as a review of updated MACS policies.
We thank Ursula DeCorrado, Jill Palermo, Brylie Johnson and Marialisa Mandarino for their
leadership throughout the day.
We are reaching out to our amazing community for anyone who may be able to share their talents for this year’s Father’s Day Stall. As per our Mother’s Day Stall we are seeking homemade gifts for our Dads for this year’s stall. The Father’s Day Stall will be held on Tuesday 1st September.
Gift ideas in the past have consisted of beef jerky/coffee gift pack. Our Mother’s Day gifts included car diffusers, drink bottles, magnets, cookies and more.
We would love to offer an array of homemade gifts made or shared with love for our Dads/special people.

FATHER'S DAY STALL TOKENS CAN BE PURCHASED NOW VIA FLEXISCHOOLS - $5.00 EACH
This year’s SJB Father’s Day Brekkie will be held on Friday 4th September from 7:30am. We look forward to welcoming our Dads and special people to celebrate our Dads and the important role they play in our students’ lives.
At St John the Baptist we strongly value our partnerships with our families and the importance of open communication. To continue our strong partnerships we have introduced an Optional Parent Teacher Interviews in Term 3. The Optional Parent Teacher Interviews may be booked by families or requested by your child’s class teacher, should they feel that it is important to meet with you.
Optional Parent Teacher Interviews will occur on Wednesday 16th September between 3:30 - 5:30pm and will be held in classrooms. Year 5/6SJ will have their optional interviews on Wednesday 26th August due to members of staff being on Long Service Leave in Week 9 and 10.

Families are reminded that should you have a PSG for your child that this takes the place of the Parent/Teacher Interview.
This September our Year 3/4 students will attend an overnight camp at Camp Allambee in Gippsland. The camp will be held in Week 9 of the term with the students departing on Thursday 10th September and returning on Friday 11th September.
This is an exciting time for our students as they prepare for their first school camp.
Families will have received an nForma form to complete in preparation for camp.
To celebrate the end of another terrific term of learning and work we have scheduled Friday 18th September as Footy Day. The students can come in their footy colours from any football code for the day. We look forward to a fun day of activities, as well as a special Footy Day lunch.
