St Mary's Bulletin

Term 3 - Week 5 (21st August, 2026)

Dear St Mary's School Community,

"Do to others what you would have them do to you"

(Matthew 7:12)

Farewell Father Phillip

Well done to both Mrs Grant and Mrs Jackson for this morning’s assembly item and congratulations to all Merit Award recipients. At the assembly we were also able to wish Father Phillip well with his new appointment and reminded him to return for a visit when he’s able.

Mrs Silver

I’d personally like to thank the PAF parents for the gift purchased for Mrs Silver in recognition for her work with the Performing Arts competition. As a teacher, it’s lovely to know that you are appreciated by both children and parents alike.

Book Week

Once again, thank you Mrs Kermode and all the staff for the fantastic Book Week celebration yesterday. Everyone LOVES a good dress up! Please see the Special Events section for all photos from the day!

Reminder

The Staff are completing their First Aid course tomorrow and Monday is the annual Catholic Leave Day for staff. Thank you all for your patience with our PD days each term: I know it’s annoying if you have to find babysitting - big shoutout to all the Grandparents who have been co-opted for these days!

Father’s Day

Don’t forget our Father’s Day Liturgy and Breakfast on Tuesday, 1st September, at 7.45am. All Dad’s/Grandad’s/Uncles welcome.

100 Years commemoration item.

I invite all Parents to submit ideas for an item to mark our 100 years (1927-2027). So far options have included a time capsule/Tiles/Sign/brick paving. All ideas will be considered and an item chosen in coming weeks by the 100 Year committee.

Lost Property

We have had two sets of keys handed in to the office. If either of these sets of keys are yours, please come to the office to collect them.

"There is no such thing as a perfect parent, so just be a real one".

God Bless,

Book Week 2026

Book Week 2026 went off with a bang this year!! A huge thank you to our teaching staff and Mrs Kermode for the amazing effort that went into the day. The staff looked the part in their costumes and all the extra effort they put into decorating their classrooms and organising their whole school activities paid off, because their classrooms looked sooooo good and the students had a blast!!

Uniform Shop Update

We greatly appreciate donations of second-hand uniforms to our Uniform Shop. To ensure these items can be reused by other families, please make sure all donated uniforms are clean and in good condition, with no holes and all zips and buttons in working order. Thank you for your support and generosity.

Take A Guess Fundraiser

Wow, we are back on!!!! We raised a whopping $93.00 this week, thanks to a very generous donor who donated $50.00 and our prize went off again. Scarlett correctly guessed the 139 screws in the jar and scored herself a bag of lollypops!! This brings out total to $322.50 so far. Keep up the great work everyone!!!

Footy Tipping Round 23

Round 23 - Congratulations to Mitch O'Neill for the win this week. He takes home $50 thanks to Elders Merredin.

Round 24 - And just like that we have come to the FINAL ROUND! And we are going out with a bang with $200 up for grabs for the winner this week thanks to the amazing generosity of Bartlett Mechanical.

Overall leaderboard - We currently have Jason Walker on top followed by Chook Last and Carly McMartin. But it is still anyone's competition and with a few difficult games this week it will certainly make for an interesting finish!

First game kicks off tonight at 5:30pm - Saints vs Suns

Happy tipping!
