Concert

Congratulations once again to Mrs Dolton who, with the help of Mrs Silver, created a wonderful Christmas concert for a huge crowd. Special thanks again to the teachers and students, who practised diligently over the preceding weeks to create a very entertaining evening. Congratulations are also extended to our new Head Boy and Head girl; Clancy Sutherland and Mia Crees. See below in our "Special Events" section for all the highlights from the night!!

Farewell

Once again, we also wish Ms Ferraro and Ms Holmes from the front office, best wishes as they move from St Mary’s onto bigger and brighter things.

Final Assembly

Please join us for our final assembly of the year and our Thank you morning tea. This will be a chance to see our Tournament of Minds team perform and our last chance to acknowledge the departing graduating class and those families who are leaving St Mary’s for the final time.

Graduation Mass

All are welcome to attend the Graduation Mass on Wednesday at 5.30pm to formally farewell our graduating 2024 class.

Uniform

Thank you all for the feedback that you gave in the recent uniform survey. For the moment the uniform will remain the same and in 2025 the Uniform committee will be given a new scope to further investigate our uniform options. In short, in 2025 the current uniform will remain unchanged and if there are any changes made in 2026, there will be a 2 year changeover period. This means that any child purchasing a formal uniform at the start of next year, will be able to wear it for up to 3 years, if they choose.

St Mary's School - "New Family of the Week"

Our "New Family of the Week" this week features Lucas Narkle, who joined us in Week Five of this term.  Lucas loves arts and sport and his favourite subjects at school are Science & Sport. Since moving to Merredin Lucas said he really enjoys playing basketball and he loves playing in his team, the "Yellow" team.

God Bless

Dancing Through the Decade's

The St Mary's students certainly didn't disappoint last night as they took us on a musical journey through the years. There was a little bit from every decade including the wild 70's disco era, the rocking 80's all the way up the 2020's with the Kindy's pulling off an amazing Beyonce hit!! Well done to all the students on an outstanding performance and to Mrs Dolton, Mrs Silver and all the staff for once again putting together a fantastic School Concert. Lots of work goes on behind the scenes and before the night to get a concert to be successful, so a BIG THANKS goes out to everyone for all your help big or small that made the night run smoothly!! Thank you also to all the parents, carers and family members etc who came along to support the children on the night. You are who they do it all for, so thank you for being there and supporting them!

Other News & Important Dates

Viterra & St Mary’s Primary School Merredin P&F

Viterra and the St. Mary’s Primary School Merredin P & F have agreed to a sponsorship program for the coming season and into the future. The Viterra Sponsorship Program commenced in 2010 as a way of helping WA grain growing communities. Since its inception, Viterra has donated over $1 million to WA grain growing sporting clubs & community groups. Viterra is very proud of what the program has achieved over this period. We are very pleased to be able to contribute to WA grain growing communities that support us, knowing that our sponsorship goes some way towards the viability of rural WA clubs and their communities – it also gives growers a sense that they too have assisted with their club’s finances. We appreciate any support you can offer Viterra by spreading the word amongst your members and the community.

Here is how it works:

Viterra will donate $0.20 per tonne to the St Mary’s Primary School Merredin P & F for every tonne of grain delivered against contracts sold to Viterra.

At the time of contracting, the grower or their consultant MUST identify that they wish the contract to be a part of the sponsorship agreement with the St Mary’s Primary School Merredin P & F. Every 12 months we will forward your club the funds accumulated against the contracts covered by the agreement.

For contract pricing of any grain, or if you wish to subscribe to the Viterra ‘sms’ or ‘email’ pricing service, contact Rob Haddrill, Tim Giumelli or Matt Stenhouse in the Viterra WA office.
