Message from Julie

What a positive start to Term 3!  We have welcomed 18 new receptions and 2 other new students across our school. Some of our senior students have been participating in SAPSASA, our Special Classes have been on an excursion, we have had an all-sports dress up donut day and there has been lots of exciting learning happening across the school.

Thank you to our fundraising team this year. Any fundraising this year goes towards the playground upgrade that we are planning for later in 2025. SRC have been working with Mrs Leonards to design our playground, and we have finalised quotes. We have an installation date of November 27 this year, and we are hoping to be able to use the new equipment in the last days of term 4. How exciting!

Student reports were sent home at the end of last term, using the online platform for the first time. Moving forward, we will continue to use this platform to access reports. If you have not been able to log in, please reach out to our admin team who will be able to help you gain access.

Thank you to families for attending parent-teacher discussions in recent weeks.  Parent-teacher discussions provide families with an opportunity to hear about their child’s progress and learning goals and to view some of their work samples. P10 families will have the opportunity for discussions in Week 7, when Ms Sophie returns from leave.

Our annual book week parade is fast approaching. The book week parade will be held on Monday of Week 5 – August 18th at 9am. The parade usually takes place on the Early Years Asphalt. Parents and families are invited to attend the celebration and view the wonderful and imaginative costumes of the students and staff. The theme for this week’s book week is “Book an Adventure”. As well as the annual parade, there will also be lunch time activities in the library, library lessons leading up to book week will focus on adventures, there will be an author visit and other special activities happening in class. A fantastic week celebrating children’s literature, reading and fun!

Please keep an eye on the dates to remember section of the newsletter for the important dates for the remainder of the year, including our upcoming pupil free and closure day.

Every Day Counts!

Every Day Counts!

EVERY DAY COUNTS! Missed school adds up to a lot of missed education. Attendance rates since Covid times have not yet recovered to pre Covid (normal) rates across South Australia. We are working to have children at school every day. Every day matters. Please let the school know via the Audiri app, a phone call or Seesaw message if your child needs to be away and if it is for sickness or for family reason. All unexplained absences require follow up by teacher/school. An exemption signed by the Principal is required for family holidays of 3 or more days. Every day counts!
