Principal's News

Dear Families

Last night our Year 6 students received the Sacrament of Confirmation. This is a significant step in our faith journey where the Gifts of the Holy Spirit are sealed and strengthened within us. Bishop Tony spoke to the children this week that when we are gifted with something, we also have to accept the gift. He challenged them to think about the gifts that they will accept. We look forward to these students moving forward with wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord in their heart.

Bully Zero Incursion

Today we had a whole school incursion led by Bully Zero. This is an evidence based, interactive program aimed to achieve a reduction in bullying and conflict, increased awareness, and improvements in overall mental health and wellbeing. Our sessions were:

  • P-2: Move and Groove

  • 3-4 and 5-6: Understanding Bullying

Cadbury Fundraising

On Wednesday we launched our Cadbury fundraising initiative. This is an important drive where we can each contribute to improvement in our school, while also enjoying some sweetness! It has been very impressive to see a handful of families already return a completely sold box and with a request for another. More are being delivered next week!

eSafety

Please find shared the eSafety website link to help support those families who are allowing their children to be online. This resource provides advice for parents and carers to help keep kids safe online and to support your child to build good habits. There are articles, webinars and downloadables to help you navigate this space. https://www.esafety.gov.au/parents

External Providers

As a school we are committed to providing equitable access and opportunity for all learners. Part of this means collaborating with external providers, such as occupational and speech therapists, to work towards some common goals for students. Please know the process for communication with these providers is through Mrs Louise Davidge our Learning Diversity and Wellbing Leader ldavidge@fatimarosebud.catholic.edu.au

Getting Ready to Learn time

A reminder that once the classroom doors open in the morning our staff members focus is to our students. If you require a decent conversation regarding a matter please know you can arrange to see a teacher from 8.30am or straight after school. Arranging a time is always appreciated.

Finally, a heads up that next week our assembly will commence at 2.30pm as we will have a music performance from our students who have private lessons. We can’t wait!
