Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

Thankyou to everyone for your messages of congratulations on my appointment as Principal. I am very humbled by the wonderful response to the news. I am very excited about this opportunity to lead this very welcoming and supportive community.

I have started the process of finding a new Deputy Principal/Leader of Learning and Teaching. I have advertised the position and I will let you know when we have appointed someone.

Swimming

Please make sure that all permission forms have been returned to the classroom teachers. Prep - Year 4 forms are due back this Friday 11th August and the Year 5 and 6 forms are due back on Friday 18th August.

Keeping our grounds tidy

We have had some grounds maintenance work done and this included the nature strip on William and Lowson Streets. I’d like to ask for your help in keeping these areas tidy. It has been noticed that some rubbish has been dumped on the Lowson Street nature strip. Things like dirty nappies have been deliberately left on the ground. Please let us know if you notice this happening. We want to ensure that school remains clean and tidy both inside and outside of the school fence.

Grandparents Day

Last Friday July 28th we celebrated our Grandparents. The students performed songs for their Grandparents and parents who came along. It was so wonderful to see so many people here to witness the beautiful performances of our students. Some photos from the event are on display in the Family Room. Please come in and have a look when you get a chance.

School Concert

On Thursday September 7th there will be a whole school Music Concert in the hall. Mr Travers will be showcasing the work that the students have been doing in their weekly music lessons.

All families are invited to attend.  Doors will open at 5.30pm with the concert starting promptly at 6.30pm. This will not be a ticketed event. Further details will be sent out soon.

Parents and Friends’ Association’s Family Fun Day

The P & F have organised a Family Fun day to take place here at the school on Saturday November 11th from 12 - 4pm. There will be rides, showbags, food vans and much more. As part of the organisation of this day we would like to ask for your support in any way that you can. Tomorrow I will be sending out a form asking you to let us know if you are able to assist with this event. There are many ways that you can help. You can offer some time on the day, you may have a business that could donate money or products for the day. Please fill in the form and return it to school as soon as possible. The more people that support this event the greater benefit it will have for the school and the students.

School uniform

A reminder that all students should be wearing the correct school uniform. We have had a few children wearing various items of jewellery. The expectation with jewellery is students should only have one earring in each ear. Necklaces are limited to religious symbols only, the same for any bracelets. If you or your child are unsure of whether or not they are permitted to wear any item of jewellery please do not hesitate to come and see me to clarify.

2025 Year 7 enrolments in Catholic Secondary Schools

Enrolments for Year 7 2025 (current Year 5 students) close on August 18th. If you would like your child to attend a Catholic secondary school you will need to submit your application prior to this date.

Congratulations Ross!

Ross (Year 4B) recently competed in the world championships of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and he placed third in the world for his weight class. He was awarded a bronze medal for this excellent effort.

Take care,

Rachael
