Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

As we approach the end of Term 3, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support during this term. It has been a difficult time for the staff and your care and compassion has been truly appreciated.

I would like to thank the staff on your behalf, for their ongoing dedication to teaching and caring for the students of St. Matthew's. They have ensured that all of the students' emotional needs have been met and they have worked tirelessly to ensure very minimal disruption to their learning.

I wish everyone a wonderful, rejuvenating holiday and we will see everyone back at school on Monday October 2nd.

School Concert - Tomorrow night

Doors to the hall will open at 5.30pm. At this time the Parents and Friends will be selling lolly bags, bags of popcorn and bottles of water for $2 each (We can accept CASH ONLY).  They will stop selling products at 6.10pm unless everything sells out prior.

As previously mentioned this will not be a ticketed event so you will choose your own seating.

At 6.00pm all of the students will be collected from the hall by their classroom teachers. They will go to their classrooms to get ready for the concert. The children will return to the hall at 6.20 and they will sit on the floor in front of the stage. You will not need to save a seat for your school aged children, they will be sitting with their class and teachers.

The concert will begin at 6.30pm. It is anticipated that the concert will run for around an hour. At the end of the concert the children will leave the hall in their classes and you will be asked to collect your child from their teacher in the asphalt area outside the hall. Every child MUST be collected by a parent or guardian.

Italian Week - Tuesday 10th and Wednesday 11th October

You would have received a letter last Friday (if you didn’t get it, please check your child’s bag) explaining the Italian Week events. One of these is the opportunity for your child to order an Italian themed lunch for Tuesday 10th October. These order forms were part of the letter that went home on Friday. ALL orders must be returned to school by FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 15th (last day of Term 3). No late orders will be accepted.

Parents and Friends’ Association - Family Fun Day, November 11th, 12 - 4pm

The P & F have organised a Family Fun day to take place here at the school on Saturday November 11th from 12 - 4pm. There will be rides, showbags, food vans and much more. As part of the organisation of this day we would like to ask for your support in any way that you can. Tomorrow I will be sending out a form asking you to let us know if you are able to assist with this event. There are many ways that you can help. You can offer some time on the day, you may have a business that could donate money or products for the day. Please fill in the form and return it to school as soon as possible. The more people that support this event the greater benefit it will have for the school and the students.

We thank you Lord, for this term. For our challenges, our successes, and the mistakes from which we have learnt. Be with us as we spend our time with family and friends.

Give us strength and courage to do what is right: to be witnesses of our faith. Keep us safe in our activities; give us good rest and good fun. Bring us back refreshed and ready for a new term. We thank you for our classmates, teachers, parents and a community that cares for us.

Amen
