Assistant Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

What a wonderful fortnight we have had as an executive team relieving as Principal for Mrs Duncan.

Through our PBL award system we are always focusing on maximising student attendance by validating consistent attendance at school through salties.  These salties are purple to differentiate from our yellow salties that identify positive behaviour. These salties will go into our weekly salty draw allowing students to multiply their opportunities for recognition of their positive choices. Please be aware if the yellow or purple salties come home to send these back to school for the weekly draw. Students name and class should be written on the back of each salty.

Our year 3 – 6 students are currently completing their literacy/numeracy check-in assessments. Students have shown resilience and problem-solving skills to complete both these assessments. Teachers will be using the student data to inform their teaching and learning programs and student reports.

All classes are getting excited about the upcoming CAPA showcase on the 29th November.  Students are working hard on items to perform at the showcase. In the coming weeks, teachers may ask for support from families to make costumes that are appropriate to each performance. This will be communicated by each classroom teacher in the near future. We look forward to seeing you at the showcase and watching our brilliant students perform in the CAPA performing areas of dance drama and music.

Stage 3 are now participating in class sport on Wednesdays while our selected Stage 3 Rugby team are training with specialised coaches for their upcoming Gala Day in Week 7 of this term.

We hope you find time to enjoy the little things.

Harmony Club

We have recently invited our K-2  friends to be apart of Harmony Club. As a group, we hang out every Monday at first recess where we are continuing to explore cultural differences, but more importantly cultural similarities among the group.

Last week we spoke about what makes us proud of our Culture or what we like about being from the Culture we are from.

Thank you for sharing why you love being from Egypt, Joud.

Zone Public Speaking

Congratulations to all our Public Speaking finalists; Logan P, Archie P, Halle S, Madden, Oliver H, Frank, Evie P and Aiden Mc for representing Edgeworth Heights Public School at the Zone Public Speaking Competition during Week 8 last term.

✨PBL (Positive Behaviour for Learning)✨

Just a reminder of our school's recognition system. We have had new families join our school over the last term (Welcome! 👋) and just wanted to provide an overview of how students are rewarded for displaying out school PBL expectations (Respect, Responsibility, Strive). Our PBL expectations were jointly constructed with staff, students and our community and this is what we use for our recognition (reward) and discipline policy. Attached you will find an overview of our recognition system and our school PBL expectations.
