Welcome to Term 3
!It’s been a chilly and wet start to Term 3, but all classes have settled in well and are already hard at work engaging with new learning content.
Across the school, students and teachers are continuing to strengthen our Explicit Teaching practices, with a strong focus on embedding our agreed Engagement Norms. These routines ensure every student can focus, participate, and reach their full learning potential.
This term, we’re excited to introduce two new Explicit Teaching routines in Mathematics: Daily Reviews and Problem Solving Reviews, with a particular focus on developing strategies to solve multiplication problems.
Next week, we invite all families to join us for Education Open Day as we celebrate this year’s Education Week theme:🎓 “Ignite Your Potential”
From 12:00pm to 1:00pm, classroom visits will showcase the powerful teaching strategies used daily across the school. We hope you can join us!
Reminders📌Parent Communication
Strong communication between school and home is a vital part of student success. Please check your child’s Individual Learning Plan to view their current learning goals for Reading Fluency and Sentence Syntax. These are available via the SchoolBytes portal.
🚸 Road Safety
Please, please be mindful of your child’s safety after they leave their teachers from the Walkers Line in the afternoon. Teachers only release students once they see a parent or carer present. Accidents can happen in a split second—let’s all work together to ensure our children are safe.
🚌 Bus Behaviour
We’ve received reports from local bus drivers regarding unsafe behaviour by some ZZPS students while travelling on the bus. This is very disappointing. We are addressing these concerns with students at school and ask that you please reinforce the importance of safe and respectful behaviour during bus travel.
Thank you for your continued support. We have lots of wonderful activities planned throughout this term.Starting with the commencement of our Puffing Billies - transition to school program, Peer Support Groups and then the 7 lessons from the Anxiety Project will commence half way through the term.
Let’s make Term 3 a safe, productive, and inspiring term of learning for all!
