Term 1 - Week 7 (15th March, 2024)

Year Six Camp

The Year Sixes arrived safely back to school from a wonderful 4 days of Camp. Lots of fun & learning was Had! Special thanks to Dave O'Neill for being our parent help (Dave loves $am mornings!!) and a SPECIAL vote of thanks goes to Mrs Mac for another action packed , experience laden Year 6 Camp experience. We all sincerely thank both adults for giving up their time to host the camp.  

Parent-Teacher Interviews

Parent-Teacher Interviews will be taking place next week. Just a reminder that bookings for interviews will close at 5.00pm tonight. Information on how  to book interviews can be found on Audiri under the "Parent-Teacher" post.

Harmony Day

The school will be celebrating Harmony Day on Thursday March 21st. Children are welcome to come to school wearing clothes reflecting their cultural background or wearing orange.

The whole school will be gathering together in the undercover area at 8:45am for an assembly showcasing a piece of work that has been completed in class to commemorate the day. Parents are welcome to attend this assembly.

Teddy Bears Hospital Incursion

On Thursday the Kindy to Year Two students were lucky enough to enjoy a visit from 11 medical students from Notre Dame University. The medical students conducted a “Teddy Bears Hospital” where they treated the children's teddies for a variety of ailments. The Teddy Bear Hospital is a community program that was developed to provide children with positive health care experiences, ease fears or anxiety associated with doctors or hospital visits, promote health and wellbeing and increase health awareness. Everyone had a wonderful day and all the teddies went home feeling much better!!

St Joseph's Day Mass

The St Joseph's Day Mass will be held next Tuesday the 19th of March at 9.00am. The Year Four/Five class will be presenting the Mass. Everyone is welcome to attend.

P&F Family Bush Dance

Next Friday the 22nd of March the P&F will be holding the St Mary's Bush Dance. Everyone is invited to come along for a night of dancing, yabby racing, face painting, raffles and more!! it is sure to be a great night and we would love to see you all there supporting our fantastic P&F and our school!!

Containers for Change

St Mary's School is part of the "Containers for Change" program. Please see the poster below for all the details. If you require a green bag to collect your cans, these are available from Mrs Riethmuller at the school.

St Mary's Family Bush Dance

The countdown is on for our inaugural Family Bush Dance next Friday 22nd between 5 - 8:30pm, which has been generously sponsored by Merredin Energy.

Mrs Dolton and the children have been working hard during Performing Arts lessons to learn multiple dances and refine their heel and toe moves.

The WA renowned Mucky Duck Bush Band will lead a great night of entertainment and we encourage everyone to dress in a Country theme and let their kids lead the way to the dance floor to join in the fun .

A fabulous raffle will be held with prizes including:

1st Prize - 50" Hisense Smart TV by Merredin Rural Supplies

2nd Prize - Esky filled with goodies donated by Nutrien Ag Solutions and school families

3rd Prize - 14 piece Pic-a-nic set donated by Marie Bartlett Tupperware

There will also be a yabbie race, a glow stick stall and a visit from Wheatbelt Ice-Cream Time. So pack your boots, a picnic and your esky, bring a rug or low chairs to sit on (some tables and chairs will be available) and settle in for a fun family night at school.
