As we reach the final week of Term 3, it is clear that this term has been marked by unity, pride, and celebration as Lae International School joins the nation in commemorating Papua New Guinea’s 50th Anniversary of Independence.
This week’s celebration was a powerful reminder of the strength and spirit of our community. From cultural performances and student-led presentations, the program showcased the richness of PNG’s heritage and the enthusiasm of our learners. A big thank you to Ms Ngasoi for her leadership in coordinating the event, and to all staff, students, and families who contributed to its success.
A special commendation goes to our Primary Student Representative Council, whose fundraising efforts have laid the foundation for a new primary office entrance—an enduring tribute to PNG’s 50th year of independence. Their initiative and commitment to improving our school environment is inspiring.
We were honoured to welcome Mr Neal Mather, the CEO of the IEA as our special guest during the celebrations. His presence was a meaningful endorsement of the work we do here at Lae International School, and we are grateful for his continued support.
As we head into the holiday break, I encourage everyone to rest, recharge, and reflect on the achievements of the term. School will resume on Monday, 29th September, and we look forward to beginning Term 4.
Warm regards,
Mr Gregory Neville
Principal
Lae International School
