Letter from the Principal, Kelli Johnston

As a school community we thoroughly enjoyed gathering together on Friday 10th May to celebrate Mother’s Day. Our students were thrilled to welcome Mums, Nannas, Grandmas, Aunties and special people into the classrooms to share in an art activity together and our Preps entertained all with their performance.  We hope that everyone had a wonderful afternoon and enjoyed the time together with their families.

Bunnings Cake Stall

Thank you to our amazing Parents and Friends team for all of their work and organisation of Saturday's Mother’s Day Bunnings Cake Stall.

The Parents and Friends Committee once again did an outstanding job in preparing this year’s Mother’s Day Cake Stall at Bunnings Scoresby.  This is a great community event that is much enjoyed by the local community. The donations of so many demonstrated not only community spirit but a wonderful array of cooking expertise. We thank our great team of volunteers who shared the role of looking after the stall throughout the day on Saturday 11th May.

We are so very fortunate to have such a beautiful sense of community at SJB. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this event such a huge success.

Prep Parent Information Evening

Last Wednesday evening we warmly welcomed our Prep families to join us for this year’s Information Evening. We thank  Laura, Melissa, Shari and Renee for preparing and presenting a most informative evening and our Prep families for attending the evening.  It was wonderful to see so many families in attendance.

We look forward to welcoming families into our Prep classrooms as parent helpers.

Prep Excursion - Exciting Times

An exciting week for our Preps as this Wednesday they head out on their very first excursion.

As part of their history unit the Preps will have a day out learning about the history of Puffing Billy.  We wish our Preps a wonderful day of learning offsite.

Working Bee News

We were overwhelmed by the response that we received to help us with some jobs prior to our next working bee.  Therefore, we have cancelled this Saturday's Working Bee.

We are so fortunate to have a parent community that is so generous in sharing their time.

Thank you to Christopher Buttery and Claire Lewis who will be spreading the mulch tomorrow.

Thank you to Glen Reed who will be patching some damaged plaster.

Thank you to Lionel Croning who will install the number signs for all our classrooms.

Thank you to Matt Cann for moving our basketball and netball rings so that our children now have half courts to play on.

We have had a terrific response to our Working Bee dates and can confirm that we will be holding our next working bee on:

FRIDAY 14th June from 2:00 - 4:30pm

We will keep Saturday 22nd June as a tentative date for a second Working Bee but do hope that with the number of people that have indicated that they can attend the Friday working bee we may be able to complete all our jobs on this day.

Community Congratulations

We congratulate Natalie and Cain Psaila on their recent marriage.  We hope you had a wonderful day filled with love.

Wishing you many years of happiness ahead.
