Reflection

Creator God, we thank you for the creative skills of all human beings, made as we are in your image and likeness. Inspire us to use our skills for the benefit of all our brothers and sisters - working not in competition with others but as “fellow-travellers” who share the same journey. Amen

Greg's Message

Last Monday our staff updated their first aid qualifications with focus on CPR, asthma, anaphylaxis and injury management. It was a valuable and important day of learning/refreshing our knowledge.

Colour Run

This week at assembly we launched our major fundraiser for the

year. Our Colour Run will be held on Friday 17 th November at Hayes

Paddock. Every child received details of the event and how to create

an online profile in their school bags.

Our first aim is to get as many students as possible set up with

online profiles. If we reach our first target of 70% of children signed

up, every child will receive a free icy pole on icy pole Wednesday!

Each week there will be different challenges and goals to keep the

fund-raising momentum going and we will keep you update in the

newsletter. Let’s kick some fundraising colour to raise some much-

needed funds for our fabulous little school.

Please reach to our fun run coordinator Jen Noonan if you have any

questions. 0409 133 458 or pjnoonan61@bigpond.com

First Lego League Challenge 2023

We are excited to announce that our Year 5/6 students are diving headfirst into another round of the First Lego League Challenge this term. This fantastic STEM initiative will have our students working on robot design, coding, and innovation projects.

Our students have formed three teams, each with its own coach: Mrs. Logue, Mrs. Redmond, and Ms. Manicle. This week marks the beginning of their exciting journey. They will delve more deeply into the world of robotics, mastering the intricacies of programming and robot design in STEM while working on their innovation projects during class time. This year’s innovation project theme is "Masterpiece," where teams are tasked with imagining and innovating new ways to create and communicate art across the globe.

Their hard work will be showcased on Thursday, November 16th, during the highly anticipated competition day at Swinburne University. As we draw closer to competition day, stay tuned for more updates!

First Lego League Help Needed!

We are in need of a handy individual willing to contribute their time and tools to construct an additional table for our robot game. We received a sturdy table-top as a donation last year, which can serve as a reference for the builder. We will cover the cost of materials and have a straightforward table plan and YouTube instructional videos available for guidance. For further details, please contact Mrs. Logue via email - llogue@sannkewe.catholic.edu.au

Faith and Social Justice

Our Year 3 students celebrated the Sacrament of Reconciliation  at St Anne’s Church last Tuesday. I thank Fr John for his support of the candidates. Special congratulations to the children, and thanks to the families for their involvement.
