Welcome to Week 4 Term 2 Caves Beach Public School for 2025

Enrol now for 2026!

This year we are in a unique situation and can take out of zone enrolments for Kindergarten to Year 6 for 2026. Students within our zone are automatically accepted but, as we have reached our enrolment buffer, in 2026 we will have spaces in all grades for students in and outside our enrolment zone. If you have a child eligible to enrol or know of children wishing to enrol at Caves Beach PS for 2026 please contact our school office on 49 711838 for further information.

Make My Day

I have had a wonderful past fortnight with several students visiting to show off their awesome achievements!

Liana and Nash from 3P shared their Ned Kelly stories. They were voicing their own opinions on whether Ned Kelly had been treated fairly. Both students were able to explain their opinions clearly using historical facts to form their opinions.

Darcy 6L was very proud to show his outstanding work around fractions. His hard work in this area is evident with him now able to complete tasks unassisted. Well done, Darcy!

Four of Mrs Chensee’s students, Billie, Hayley, Zahli and River were all bursting with pride showing the improvement they have made with number fact knowledge. Their tracking sheets show the amazing progress they are making this year in their recall of number facts. Great achievement girls we are all very proud of you.

In Literacy, we’ve continued to practice our decoding skills and writing that includes character dialogue. In Maths, daily number talks have been introduced and have quickly become a favourite part of our day. A big focus for our class has been working as a team, whether it’s helping a classmate, sharing ideas or problem solving together.

Grow Your Mind

Another strength you can grow is CREATIVITY.

Being creative means to think of new ways to do things in the

classroom, on the playground or at home.

When we show CREATIVITY we use our ELEPHANT and WISE OWL. This strength is important for our mental health because it helps us find our state of ‘flow’.

      You can display CREATIVITY by:

- thinking of multiple ways to solve a problem

- making up interesting games and exploring different ways to play them

- writing or drawing something that is unique, just like you

- starting a new creative activity like singing in the choir, playing a musical instrument or performing in drama

"Creativity doesn't wait for that perfect moment. It creates its own

perfect moments out of ordinary ones."

Band update

What a fabulous few weeks! Students are still buzzing from the Hot Potato Band visit, the senior band did an amazing job with the workshop with this group, we are very lucky to have hosted them! Photos have been posted to the band Seesaw and also on the schools Facebook account for those interested.

These two weeks are a little calmer as we settle into some new songs in rehearsals for both bands.

Isabella O'Brien will be filling in for keyboard lessons for the remainder of the term. Please contact me if you need any more information regarding contacting her for lessons.

If your child has any changes to band membership, please ensure you let me know and return any hired instrument. You will also need to inform your child's tutor and the school office. I am always available for questions relating to band membership and adjustments that could support your child continuing in the ensemble.

There are still places vacant for new band members - notes are available in the music room from Mrs Scott.
