Our best wishes go out to the 3 BPS girls and the rest of their Inner West-based troupe, as they head off to Penrith for the national competition on 23 September. Good luck and have a great time, girls!

Juniors
Today we played our best game so far, we won 11-0!!!!! Everyone was passing really well and knew when to pass and when not to.
Player of the match goes to Harrison for doing amazing passing and dribbling the ball up the field a lot, and scoring a goal.
Special mention goes to Cara for making that decision hard because she did great tackling and wasnāt afraid.
Good job for everyone for playing this season and giving it a go!
ā Cassius S
Balmain A
Today we played Birchgrove and won 3 - 0.
The player of the match for this game is Ginger. Ginger gets this for playing up for the first time of the season and playing extremely well. It was an amazing last game if the season.
Well done to Miles for playing up while being in goals and congratulations to the team for a fun season.
- Matt L
Balmain B
The game was very close and the score was 3-2.
Unfortunately we did not succeed in winning. But we tried as hard as we could and in that i would call winning.
Despite the fact that everyone played very well today a particular standout was Clancy as he passed the ball everywhere and supported his team.
ā Anthony H
Balmain C
We lost 2-0 to Kegworth.
The game went great until the second half when the other team got their first goal. After that they were more motivated and played harder, faster and stronger. Most of our team got injuries and a few were subbed off.
Even though we lost I still think the team has improved a lot since our first game.
The player of the match was Ethan as he played well throughout the game and gave it his best shot.

It's been a busy, but wholesome, few weeks in 1/2L, as the class have settled into their new surroundings. Our beautiful new classroom has been the source of lots of creativity in our investigations lessons. The puppet theatre has been embraced by many budding producers, directors and actors/actresses. The children in the theatre have been busy writing scripts, creating set design and performing for our class. There are also amazing inventors, scientists and herbologists in our classroom, who are unfolding new pockets of learning! Our literacy focus this term is information reports and factual texts. The children have enjoyed creating lots of informative pieces about various creatures, even mythical ones! In Numeracy, we have been learning about capacity. 1/2L have embraced the sunshine of recent to bring our maths outside for some hands-on learning! The children loved dressing up for Book Week and identifying the inspiration for the various outfits!
This week, 5/6P has been learning about picture books, in preparation to write and illustrate our own fables. On Tuesday, we met up in the playground with 1/2A and 1/2J and read them some picture books, before creating our own with them. We learnt to use expression and put on voices for the different characters when reading books to them, to create interest. Weāve been studying picture books and identifying the characteristics that make an engaging and meaningful book for younger readers. Overall, weāve had a fun time creating our stories and we look forward to creating our books! by Indi M and Addie N
Make an appointment at 'Aussie Balmain' and mention 'Balmain Public School'. They will give us $50! Thanks so much for supporting our fabulous school!
Balmain Public School children are expected to wear full school uniform, including a school hat, every day. All children are required to wear full school uniform when representing the school on excursions, at sporting events or at cultural activities.
