Monday 1st July 2024 Term 2 Week 10

From the Principal

Student Success:

Congratulations to Sofia F who competed at the regional cross country recently. Sofia came just outside the top ten – a magnificent result! Well done to our winners of the school spelling bee Violet, Hannah and Emily, and to our runners up Sophie, Peyton and Ewan. Our Stage 2 and 3 winners will now go on to represent the school in the Premier’s Spelling Bee competition. Congratulations to our teams that competed at the netball gala day recently! The teams showed great sportsmanship during the day and had some convincing wins. Good luck to our PSSA netball team who are competing in Round 4 of the competition on Wednesday.

Term 3 Start Date:

A reminder that school for students will begin on MONDAY 22nd JULY as our school development day has been moved to Monday 5th August. So, students will come to school on Monday 22nd July and not come to school on Monday 5th August. Buses will be running on Monday 22nd July and OOSHC will be available for Monday 5th August.

Mini Olympics:

It was great to see so many happy faces at our mini Olympics last week! A big thank you to our intern teachers who coordinated the event.

Thank You Interns:

Thank you to our intern teachers who have been working with us this term. Mr Ford, Mr Thompson and Miss Hicks have done an amazing job in the school and we look forward to having them work with us after they graduate.

External Validation:

Recently, we undertook External Validation for our school. This process allows our school to evaluate what we are doing against the School Excellence Framework and analyse our current programs and practices. The external validation team who visited our school to review our submission were very impressed with the high quality of the programs that we have in our school. From this process, we will now start to gather data to write our new school improvement plan, ready to implement in 2025. Next term, we will be surveying parents to gather your thoughts and perspective on what we offer in our school.

Band Link:

Good luck to the band members who are attending Band Link this week. We look forward to hearing of your successes!

P&C:

Our Term 2 P&C meeting will be held tomorrow night, 6pm at Warners Bay Hotel. We look forward to seeing you there.

Happy Holidays:

I would like to wish you all a wonderful, relaxing, safe holiday and look forward to seeing you after the break.

Book Parade/Grandparents Day/Education Week

Reminder that our combined celebration will be on Friday 16th August. The theme for Book Week is “Reading is Magic” and now is the time to start planning costumes. Our book parade is not a dress-up competition but a time for all students to join in the fun of books and reading.
