Eastlakes Edition

Term 2 Week 5

Acknowledgement to Country

Students, teachers and parents of Eastlakes Public School, pay respects and acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, past, present and future who have the first connection to this land.

We are thankful for the Gadigal and Kameygal clans for taking care of the land, sky and waterways on which we learn and play today.

Together we will rise to the challenge and be respectful and responsible to care for our country.

Always was, always will be Aboriginal land

From the Principal

I am pleased to share some news and updates from our school community.

Our Student Representative Council (SRC) has held their very first meeting this term and have generated some excellent ideas to help enrich our school environment. I look forward to seeing their initiatives come to life and benefit all students.

At the recent Zone Cross Country Carnival, we had around 40 students participate with great enthusiasm and determination. Everyone gave their very best effort, and they truly deserve our congratulations for their commitment and sportsmanship. A special thank you to Mr Tiley and Mr O'Connell for supporting and supervising our students on the day.

Our K-2 and support class students are currently engaged in the Got Game Athletics program, which is focusing on improving their fundamental movement skills. It's fantastic to see them developing these important physical skills through such fun and structured activities.

Parents and carers, please remember that bookings for Parent Teacher Conferences are now open on Sentral. I encourage you to book a time to speak with your child’s teacher during Week 11 of this term to discuss their progress and achievements.

Congratulations to all students who have achieved their Bronze and Silver PBL awards this term. To celebrate their hard work and positive behaviour, they were rewarded with a special disco this afternoon. A well-deserved celebration!

Looking ahead, we will be observing National Sorry Day and Reconciliation Week, important times for reflection and respect. Additionally, our school will participate in Jump Off Day for the Heart Foundation, promoting heart health and fitness.

Thank you all for your continued support. Together, we are creating a supportive and caring school community.
