We have been blessed each morning Monday to Wednesday and this afternoon at our Easter Alive Chapels as our students have sung, played, danced, read and prayed and been challenged by messages from Kevin Stickl, Director of YWAM Byron. It is for freedom that Christ has set us free!
Good day RCC community! I hope you are doing well and have had a great week in preparation for the long Easter weekend. At RCC for Easter Alive we have been running chapels every single day, with guest speaker Kevin Stickl (my dad). I will be giving a brief recap of each message he has shared this week. The theme for this year's Easter alive was “It is for freedom we have been set free”.
Monday: On Monday, Kevin shared that God had created us for relationship with him, and that it was a deep and intimate relationship between humanity and God. (Genesis 1:26-28; Ephesians 3:18)
Tuesday: The main point of the message on Tuesday was that, because of humanities choice to define good and evil for themselves, therefore allowing sin to enter into the world, there became a divide between humanity and God because of sin. (Romans 3:23; 6:23)
Wednesday: Kevin's main theme was that God loved each of us so personally, that He sent the ultimate sacrifice in the person of Jesus. Jesus came to earth and showed humanity how much He loved them by being a selfless servant, serving others on earth, but ultimately going on to become the sacrificial lamb on the cross, so that we may now have a relationship with God. (John 15:13; John 1:29; 2 Corinthians 5:21)
Thursday: For the final day of RCC’s Easter Alive service, Kevin presented that everyone in the world has a choice to make. They have the decision whether to accept Jesus’ sacrifice for themselves, so they are able to have a relationship with God, which leads to life in relationship with a good Heavenly Father who loves his children. (John 1:12; Matthew 28:18-20).
It’s been an incredible privilege being able to prepare for Easter Alive with the RCC team and have Kevin as a guest speaker. I’ll be praying for everyone that over the weekend that we will all be able to stop and reflect upon how deep, wide, long and high the Father’s love is for all of us, which He showed by sending His own Son down to die so that we could have a relationship with Him.
Blessings,
T
