TERM 4 WEEK 4 - 08 November 2024

Principal

On behalf of the staff and P&C I would like to thank our school community for your tremendous support of our Colour Run fundraiser. We are looking forward to enjoying our fun run next Friday and welcome family and friends to come and join the fun.

It has been wonderful to welcome new Kindergarten students and their families to our transition days. This is a great opportunity for children to familiarise themselves with school and to prepare for next year. If you are yet to enrol your child or would like more information about our school please do not hesitate to contact our office.

As a part of the new Teachers Award the Department of Education has increased the number of Staff Development Days for 2025.

School development days are used by our school to build on the knowledge and skills of our teachers, school leaders and school administrative support staff through a targeted professional learning program. We have high expectations and are proud of the quality of teaching and learning that occurs in each of our classrooms.

The teachers at Moruya Public School spend a considerable amount of time outside of school hours preparing for lessons, marking student work and providing feedback and ensuring that each child is provided with teaching and learning to enable them to reach their full potential. The staff development days at the start of the year will also assist teachers in ensuring that high quality teaching and learning programs are ready for the day that students arrive.

2025 Staff Development Days are as follows:

  • Term 1: Friday 31 January to Wednesday 5 February
  • Term 2: Monday 28 April and Tuesday 29 April
  • Term 3: Monday 21 July
  • Term 4: Monday 13 October (there will be no staff development days at the end of term 4)

2025 Term dates for students are:

  • Term 1: Thursday 6 February to Friday 11 April
  • Term 2: Wednesday 30 April to Friday 4 July
  • Term 3: Tuesday 22 July to Friday 26 September
  • Term 4: Tuesday 14 October to Friday 19 December

Please note that all Kindergarten students will now begin school on Thursday 6 February 2025. More information will be provided to Kindergarten students and their families this term.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at the Colour Run next week.
