Rozelle is a place where Aboriginal children learned, played and celebrated their culture for thousands of years on this beautiful, natural land. As we learn, play and celebrate together on this land, we honour the Wangal people of the Eora nation and pay our respects to elders both past, present and emerging.
Next week, Parent/Teacher Conferences take place. These interviews are an important aspect of a child's education and development, providing an opportunity for parents and teachers to discuss progress, strengths, and areas for improvement. By making an appointment and meeting with your child’s teacher you will:
- Improve communication: Parent-teacher interviews provide a platform for parents and teachers to communicate effectively and openly about a child's academic and social progress. This helps in identifying potential issues early on and taking appropriate actions to address them.
- Share responsibility: Education is a shared responsibility between parents and teachers. By attending parent-teacher interviews, parents can actively participate in their child's education and work collaboratively with the school to support their child's learning.
- Build a better understanding: Parent-teacher interviews provide an opportunity for teachers to gain a better understanding of a child's needs, learning style, and personality. This helps in creating a tailored approach to teaching and supporting the child's development.
- Create a positive relationship: Positive relationships between parents and teachers can have a positive impact on a child's academic and social outcomes. Parent-teacher interviews provide a chance to build these relationships and strengthen the school community.
- Set future goals: Parent-teacher interviews provide an opportunity to set goals and create a plan for the child's academic and social growth. This helps in creating a sense of direction and purpose for both the child and the teacher.
If you haven’t yet made a time to meet with your child’s teacher, I encourage you to do so.
PLAYGROUND SUPERVISION BEFORE SCHOOL
The school provides supervision for students on the Asphalt area of our playground every morning before school starting at 8.30am. Please ensure students do not arrive too early as there is no teacher supervision before this time and it is unsafe.
