Dear Drummoyne PS Community,
Welcome back to Term 4!
It’s always a busy and exciting time as we head towards the end of the school year. This term we’ll be welcoming our new 2026 Kindergarten students for their transition sessions, celebrating the end of year with special class and whole-school events, and recognising our Year 6 students as they prepare for high school with their farewell celebrations and Market Day. We also look forward to our Presentation Assemblies, where we’ll acknowledge student achievements across the year. It’s shaping up to be a wonderful and memorable term for our school community.
Senior Playground Equipment Project
We’re excited to share that our new senior playground equipment project has been approved! The play area will be developed on the site of the large demountable, currently occupied by Gowrie, which the DoE has scheduled for removal. Once removed, the building will be refurbished and made ready to be redeployed to schools in need, particularly those affected by natural disasters such as bushfires or floods.
This exciting project has been made possible through the generous support and funding of our P&C, together with school funds and a NSW State Government grant. We can’t wait to see this area transformed into a vibrant and fun play space for our senior students. Planning for the new playground is well underway with staff and students completing a survey this week on the types of equipment they’d most like to see in the space. I’ll be sharing results from these surveys with the P&C for consultation at next Tuesday’s October meeting.
October P&C Meeting: 2025 NAPLAN Results Analysis
On that note, I encourage you to attend the October P&C meeting next Tuesday night at 7:30pm, where I will also be sharing an analysis of this year’s NAPLAN results and explaining how these insights will help inform our school improvement plans moving forward. Coming along to a P&C meeting and/or joining the P&C is a great opportunity to stay connected with the school, hear about exciting projects and contribute to discussions, and decisions, that benefit all our students.
Regards,
John Nguyen
