It is wonderful to see our school’s achievement in photos over the last 4 weeks. Hopefully you have caught up with all the wonderful activities and success stories on Edgeworth Heights Facebook page, your child’s seesaw page and Audiri App (was Skoolbag).
Recently, all families received a copy of the Term 3 newsletter for their child’s stage. It will have all the information that you may be wondering about. If there is something else, we can add or suggestions to support communication between school and home in the Stage Newsletter please let us know.
Parent interviews are in Week 7 (30th August). Please make the time to come and meet your child’s class teacher to review their progress and ask questions about the Semester 1 reports. I ask you to be mindful that we have only allocated a short catch-up time to allow for as many parents as possible to speak to the teacher. If you need a longer meeting at another time, please contact the school through phone or email.
I look forward to meeting our ’ “DUGS” on the 1st of September. Thank you to Mrs Mayne and Miss Radford for organising this event. It was also wonderful to see so many families supporting our students in their Wakakirri performance on Wednesday. Edgeworth Heights students shone! I was very proud. A huge congratulation to Mrs McQuillan, Mrs Armstrong, Miss Field, Miss Carney and Mr Frizell for your passion and dedication to creative and practical arts and giving students the opportunity to experience and have special memories in primary school.
Year 5 head to Canberra next week. Some of them have told me they have already packed. I would like to acknowledge the teachers taking the time away from their families to provide the Year 5 students this opportunity.
This term our school will be going through an external validation process. It is where we have a close look at our strengths and areas that we could strengthen. Staff have worked in teams to review focus areas such as Teaching, Learning and Leadership. An external panel meet with us on the 19th September to give us feedback on our submission. It is a great opportunity to celebrate as well as review what we do as a school and the systems and process we have to support student’s learning and wellbeing. Feedback from parents, students and staff also is an important component of our evidence collection. The Tell Them From Me Survey for parents will be coming out in Term 4 and we rely on parents responses to support moving forward to provide the best education and school experience for our students.
Make the most of the awesome moments.
