Voc Ed activities (Yrs 7-12)

Please check with individual classes as to when your child has Library. Intensive Swimming lessons will commence later in the term. More details will be sent home closer to the date.

We will be running Work Experience with the senior students in Semester 2. Letters will be sent home when dates are finalised later in the year.

Uniforms

Havenlee School Polo shirts can be purchased at the office for $25 each (cash only). The uniform for primary students is a light blue polo shirt and a Navy polo shirt is for high school students. All other uniform items can be purchased at local shops who sell generic school uniforms. If you have any questions regarding uniforms, please ring the office Ph: 4421 3777

Communication

We welcome and encourage communication between home and school by your child’s communication diary. If your child uses Assisted School Travel, please do not tell the drivers or ATSO’s information to be passed onto the school. We are not able to follow through on anything delivered this way. If you do not have time to write in the diary and need to inform the school of anything, please phone the office on Ph: 4421 3777. Most school communication will be sent home via the Audiri App. Please contact the office if you need assistance with this.

Bus Bay routine

The mornings and afternoons are very busy around the Havenlee School bus bay. There are both Havenlee and North Nowra PS students arriving and leaving at approximately the same time. Please keep a watch out for pedestrians around the bus bay area.

Generally, only buses are to go into the Havenlee bus bay area. All parents/carers who drop off and/or pick up their child by car are to park in the “kiss and drop” area out the front of the school (NB in the afternoon, no cars are to park in the kiss and drop area before 2:30pm unless picking up a  early). If you have a Havenlee sign on the dashboard of your car, you will be allowed to briefly leave your car to drop off/collect your child (the Havenlee signs are available from the office).

PLPs/ITPs

PLP/ITP Meetings are starting in week 3 (12/02/2024). A note explaining the PLP/ITP process will be sent home soon. Your contribution to the process is essential in making sure the priorities in your child’s Personalised Learning Plan/Personal learning Pathways are the best ones for him/her currently. It is also helpful for us to make sure all your contact details are up to date at school. If for some reason you cannot make it to your child’s PLP meeting, please let the school know and we will attempt to have it rescheduled to another time.

We look forward to working with you throughout the year,

Principal Havenlee School

Wellbeing Chat

We are off and running at Havenlee for the start of the year! It is wonderful to see everyone and to welcome those who are new to the school. The students are already being creative in play and dress-ups but also learning in the library and the classroom.

Have a great year.

Julie

Hydrotherapy Timetable Term 1 2024

See below the Hydrotherapy Timetable for Term 1. Please ensure you send your child’s swimming gear in on their day – towel, board shorts, rash shirt, swimmers, swim nappies/pants, goggles etc. If you would like your child’s swimming gear to stay at school instead of going home each day, please write this in their communication diary.

If your child is new to the school their teacher will discuss hydrotherapy at the PLP meeting early in Term 1, so a plan can be written and signed before they swim.

If you have any questions, please contact the school.

Kind Regards,

Brooke Goodger

Assistant Principal and Hydrotherapy Co-ordinator

Weeks 1-3 Responsible ‘When I am in the right place.’

In weeks 1-3 of this term the PBL focus is responsible and students being in the right place. Explicit lessons are being taught in classrooms and PBL tickets are given out for students demonstrating being in the right place. Some examples are sitting on the waiting seat ready for class, sitting at their desk ready for learning and being in the right at assembly, library and in the hydrotherapy pool.
