Welcome to the Balmain family, Ms Davies!
We are excited to announce that, as of this week, we have the unique opportunity to introduce a third classroom teacher to our Kindergarten team and space, 4 days a week, until the end of the school year! Ms Davies will be supporting both Ms Davis and KD, as well as Ms Jennett and KJ.
Ms Davies is a Masters of Primary Education graduate, with a son who has also started Kindergarten in the same year! She has a passion and background in languages, food, and travel, with a wealth of experience in teaching in a variety of contexts.
Welcome to the Kindergarten team and Balmain PS!
Welcome officially, Miss Fahmi!
Although not a 'new' face at BPS this year, Miss Meriam Fahmi has recently relieved on 6R, previously known as 6B, for the past 2 weeks whilst Mrs Riley has been on leave. As of Week 3, and until the end of the year, Miss Fahmi will be on 6R every Friday whilst Mrs Riley has her executive day.
Miss Fahmi holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Primary Education and Psychology and is dedicated to creating a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment for all students. She is passionate about inspiring and nurturing her students' academic and personal growth, ensuring that they feel valued and supported.
Welcome aboard and into our fabulous Balmain family!

Congratulations to Victoria who, along with her team, Comets U12s Division 1, won the Metro League Representative Basketball Championship. This weekend, Victoria and her team are competing in the State Championships! Victoria joined the Div 1 Reps team for the first year and it is great pleasure to be part of a champion team. Hope more girls can enjoy the fun of sports!
Every time the Olympics-inspired, Woolworths commercial comes on, I can't help but stop and hum to the background music - 'Amazing', by ex-Balmain Public School student, Alex Lloyd!
PLEASE KEEP THEM COMING! We're collecting plastic bottle lids for a special project. Please wash and dry instead of recycling. There is a collection box in the foyer, outside the office. Thanks so much for your help!

SOME OF OUR STORIES ARE SAVED AS HIGHLIGHTS...
Exciting Changes Ahead for 1/2 Warthogs! Hello everyone! Our 1/2 Warthogs class has had a fantastic start to Term 3. Can you believe how quickly the year is flying by? With Ms. Withers heading off on maternity leave shortly, we’re eagerly anticipating Ms. Lydon joining us,— it's not a drama, especially since we will soon be known as 1/2 LLAMA! Investigation time remains one of our favourite parts of the day. We've been making some truly wonderful creations, from adorable puppets to wacky, creative potions and incredibly bright and detailed maps. The students' imaginations and skills continue to amaze their teacher every day. We've also been loving mathematics! Late last term, we focused on making 3D objects, dived into division last week, and are now gearing up to learn all about mass. We feel so lucky to have such brilliant math resources at our disposal, making learning both fun and engaging. Finally, we've had two wonderful gymnastics classes with ZingActiv, along with one of their Wellbeing classes. The Wellbeing sessions are so cool; we each get to wear a pair of noise-cancelling headphones and have our own small mat. This helps us hear the wonderful instructors without getting distracted! We've already picked up a few new meditation and mindfulness tools to keep up our bright yellow sleeves! Thanks for being the best community ever, Balmain!

Balmain played really well. People were in good positions. They were passing the ball good. We won 5-0 against Fort Street. The player of the match is Oscar L because he was good at defending, good dribbling, and good passing.
Dylan M
Junior B
We lost 2-1. The other team had just scored a goal at the last 5 seconds before we had finished the match I thought that we played quite well.Skye was the player of the match today but we still need to work on defence and passing to each other.
Captain Mia C
A Grade
Today we played against Annandale and lost 6-2 but our team had great coordination with our passes and everyone in our defence was great, but today the mvp was most definitely Clancy with his bicycle kick to score and lighten up the mood.
Captain James L-M
Senior A
The score is 11-0 and I think Ethan Z is the player of the week because he defended well and help position through the game.
Captain Eddie R
Senior B
Today we had a nail biting gane. It was 0-0 until the last seconds of the game, we then had a corner kick and we scored! The man of the match today was Ivan J he was really solid in defence today and he scored the winning goal.
Team captain Ethan P
