From the Principal

Dear Jamberoo Public School Community,

PEAK

With the festive season fast approaching we thought it would be a wonderful idea to instill in the children the importance and value of giving to those who are less fortunate than ourselves. This year we have decided to donate to the Wollongong Homeless Hub and Housing Service. We would appreciate any donations in the  hope that we would be able to make life just a bit easier for someone these holidays. Below is a link to their donations list. Please feel free to pop in to Peak at any time to drop off your donations.

Year 6 Farewell

The Year 6 Farewell was an unforgettable night of laughter and celebration. As the sun dipped below the horizon, the atmosphere buzzed with excitement and nostalgia. The venue was adorned with twinkling lights and a palpable sense of anticipation. A heartfelt thank your to The Lodge Jamberoo, a beacon of generosity and community spirit. As we bid farewell to a chapter filled with memories and camaraderie, we are immensely grateful for The Lodge's generosity in providing us with a stunning farewell venue at no cost to the school. They also added an extra touch of joy with the provision of a delightful photo booth for free.

This type of event doesn’t happen without lots of dedicated people giving their time to organise things. A heartfelt thank you extends to three extraordinary parents whose invaluable contributions added magic and warmth to our event. Thank you Erin Egan for organising the venue and decorations, Sam Warren for organising the cake and decorations and Natalie Behl for making the invitations and yearbook. And finally, a very big thank you to Mrs Peterson for organising and overseeing the whole event.

Wombarra and Birrahlee

When Mother Nature played spoilsport and the eagerly anticipated excursion to Killalea was drenched in rain, the resilient classes of Wombarra and Birrahlee decided to turn disappointment into delight. The dreary weather transformed into an unexpected blessing as the students embraced an impromptu Pyjama Day filled with cozy comfort and endless excitement. Instead of exploring the outdoor wonders of Killalea, the classroom became a haven of warmth and camaraderie. Pajama-clad students traded hiking boots for fuzzy slippers and swapped backpacks for blankets. Laughter echoed through the room as the class collectively decided to defy the rain and create their own adventure indoors.

The day unfolded with Birrahlee students huddled together for a movie then onto biscuit decorating and art.

But the excitement didn't end there the aroma of freshly baked cookies wafted through the air as Wombarra ventured into the culinary arts. Students became master chefs, creating delicious chocolate chip cookies to share.

As the last movie credits rolled and the cookie crumbs settled, the class realised that sometimes the best adventures are the ones we least expect. The Pyjama Day that emerged from a rain-soaked setback became a tale of resilience, friendship, and the joy of turning a gloomy day into a memorable escapade.

Birrahlee- Story Writing

Birrahlee have stepped into the imaginative world of creativity as they begin the task of crafting their own storybooks. In this innovative class, students are not just readers but storytellers, weaving narratives that spring from the depths of their imagination. Under the guidance of Mrs Mahoney, the classroom has transformed into a bustling workshop of ideas.

From whimsical characters to enchanting settings, each student brings their unique perspective to the storytelling table. As the pages come to life, so do the young authors. They learn the art of character development, plot pacing, and the magic of descriptive language. In the end, the students not only have a tangible creation in the form of their own storybooks but also a newfound appreciation for the power of words. This class isn't just about crafting tales; it's about fostering a love for storytelling that will last a lifetime.
