Anzac Day

A huge thank you to all the students, parents and teachers who took part in the ANZAC Day march.  It was wonderful to see such strong support and respect shown by our school community.  Your presence helped honour the service and sacrifice of our veterans in a truly meaningful way.

Grow Your Mind

As life continues to change around us, we need to be adaptable and remain optimistic. To help us maintain a positive outlook, it is important to use our Grow Your Mind animals.

This week is the OCTOPUS who helps us understand about feelings and emotions. To do this we need to learn about our own feelings and how to be sensitive towards our friends and family.

Understanding NCCD

This term, our focus will be the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data, NCCD as it is more commonly known. It is the annual collection of information about Australian school students with disability. Our school communicates parents, guardians or carers about adjustments that the student with disability receives. This comprehensive approach ensures students with disability can access education on the same basis as their peers (The Disability Standards for Education 2005).

Parental consent is not required for the NCCD, but every effort is made to inform parents, guardians and carers that a student has been included in the NCCD.

PSSA Swimming

Congratulations Neave!

We are so incredibly proud of Neave and all she has achieved.

At the State Finals, Neave qualified for all four of her individual events and took out the win in backstroke – finishing a huge two seconds ahead of the next competitor!

Her outstanding performance earned her the title of Hunter Regional Swimmer of the Meet, as she was the only swimmer from the Hunter Region to bring home a gold medal.

Neave’s hard work and dedication have now seen her selected for the National Team, and she will be heading to Ballarat in October to compete at the Australian Championships.

Congratulations, Neave – we are all behind you.
