Principal's Message

I think it is safe to say we were all blown away by the exceptional calibre of the music talent on display last night at the Big Music Night (BMN). We are incredibly proud to be able to provide our students with so many musical avenues that nurture and grow the talent of so many students. Huge accolades need to go to the extraordinary talent of Mr Howesmith and the dedicated Instrumental Music School Services (IMSS) team. A very big thank you also to the staff who supported backstage on the night, a wonderful demonstration of the team we have at CPS.

Year 6 Camp was another amazing event! I spent the day down at Forest Edge and was amazed how the children demonstrated resilience and a ‘having a go’ attitude. They really challenge themselves from venturing on the huge flying fox, climbing massive walls, working as a team to build a raft, being part of the food serving service…and trying to beat the camp team leaders in basketball (they had no chance!) they were provided with loads of opportunities to build many valuable skills. Notes thanks to Mrs Kennedy, Mr O’Mara, Mr J, Mr Marshall, Mrs Gerrans and Mrs Idle for supporting this wonderful experience…even with the lack of sleep!

We have three amazing Cross Wardens Lyndsay, Norbit and Tracey who support children and families to cross safely to and from school.  They would like to thank our community for making them feel part of CPS with friendly ‘Hi’ and ‘Byes” and “thank you’s’. Just a reminder to follow all instructions they give – wait until they blow their whistle before you leave the road side, they want to make sure you are kept safe at all times. There will only be one warden on Pearson next week so please support the warden.

TheirCare are our before and after school providers. They lease the OSH room, the creative play space and surrounding area from room 9 to room 6 and the east side of the junior block, they also lease the basketball courts (except when netball require this area). They set cones around this area and place activities out for the children in the afternoon. They are finding it increasingly difficult to keep this area free of children who are not from TheirCare and from other children taking the equipment. They have duty of care of the children they have enrolled and need to ensure that these areas are kept free for them. They kindly ask that children and families leave the OSH area free.  They greatly appreciate the communities support with this.

What a Wow of a BMN!!
