Dear Parents,
This year, our students will be learning about what it means to be “walking in Jesus’ footsteps”. In week 5, students will be learning the true meaning of Mission by embarking in lessons that focus on helping the needy and marginalised people in our communities. Like Jesus, they will be able to make a difference in people’s lives by reminding them that there are people out there that love them just like the scriptures tell us.
Students will bring in an item for the Christmas hampers on that day as well as later on in the term. It is vital that the students are provided with a hands-on experience that links the learning with the action. These activities will centre around the true calling of our faith.
Please ensure that the students are wearing comfortable clothes and sensible shoes including a hat of their choice. No thongs or slides are to be worn to school.
THE ITEMS TO BRING IN ARE AS FOLLOWS:
Kindergarten - Bags of chips, popcorn etc
Year 1 - Cans of tuna or baked beans
Year 2 - Packets of biscuits or crackers
Year 3 -Bottles of longlife milk including full cream, light or skim
Year 4 - bags of lollies, pretzels, muesli bars etc
Year 5 - Bottles of soft drink, cordial, iced tea, longlife juice etc
Year 6 - Coffee, tea, sugar
The Year 6 students will come around on that day and collect all the donations which will form part of the St Vincent de Paul Christmas Hamper collection.
