It’s been another fantastic couple of weeks at Mansfield Primary School, filled with rich learning experiences both in and out of the classroom.
Our Year 3 students had a wonderful time at camp at Sheepyard Flat. The excitement, independence, and teamwork on display were a joy to see. A huge thank you to the staff for their organisation and care, and to our amazing parent helpers who gave their time to support the students and make the camp such a success.
While it was disappointing to have to postpone the Year 4 camp, we’re already looking forward to the new date. The staff and students have handled the change with great understanding, and we remain fully committed to making this experience happen for our Year 4s. Our S2s program is such an important part of building independence, confidence, and friendships, and we know it will be well worth the wait.
Our Year 2’s also had a great adventure on their hike, showing enthusiasm, resilience, and plenty of smiles along the way. Experiences like these build confidence and strengthen friendships, it was a terrific day for everyone involved.
We were also fortunate to welcome the REACH Foundation, who worked with our Year 5 and Year 6 students. The sessions focused on social and emotional development, helping students build self-awareness, empathy, and confidence. It was a powerful and positive experience, and the feedback from students has been overwhelmingly positive.
It feels like only yesterday that our Year 6 students were up on stage for their musical performance, showcasing their creativity, teamwork, and courage. What an amazing performance it was! The dedication and enthusiasm the students brought to every rehearsal and performance was inspiring. A heartfelt thank you to all the teachers and ES staff who supported the students behind the scenes, and a special thank you to Mrs Sketcher, whose leadership, creativity, and passion for the performing arts made it all possible.
Next week, our Year 6 students embark on their final School 2 Summit journey, an incredible adventure that truly symbolises the culmination of their time at Mansfield Primary School. This experience challenges them physically, mentally, and emotionally, and celebrates all they have achieved throughout their years with us. Watching the students ride out of the school gates on their bikes is one of the proudest moments I have each year as Principal. It represents bravery, kindness, inclusion and the courage to take on new challenges, everything we hope to instil in our students. Good luck to all our Year 6 students.
This week, we came together to mark Remembrance Day. Our School Captains represented Mansfield Primary School beautifully at the community service, laying a wreath with confidence, maturity, and respect. They demonstrated the values we are so proud of, compassion, leadership, and gratitude and were wonderful ambassadors for our school.
A special thank you to Keith, who safely rehomed the bees that recently made themselves comfortable in our school grounds, a great outcome for everyone, bees included!
Finally, I’d like to thank all of our parents and community members for their patience and support during pick-up times. Your cooperation helps keep our students safe and makes the process smoother for everyone.
As we head towards the final stretch of Term 4, it’s lovely to see our students continuing to learn, grow, and support each other.
